Adrian Smith Blues Band 2008 - Magnolia 2008

This recording of the J.J Cale song "Magnolia" was recorded on the 18th April 2008. This was the very first time I heard and played this song. I had already been playing with these two chaps for about 6 years and we continued to get together until around 2013/4, memory is a little hazy now!
The guitar player spoke many times of us playing some gigs but nothing ever came to fruition. A rather bizarre band to be in really as it was sort of supposed to be a little hush, hush! How silly is that... Also somewhat disappointing!
So a little about the recording. I organised the jam/session and the recording. We recorded to analogue tape and Pro Tools. I along with my good friend Tony Forman set-up the microphones and the studio for the recording and Tony kindly engineered and multi-tracked the session for me. The video camera was a final thought. I used a JVC S-VHS camera and just positioned it a few feet away and set it running. We played for an hour or so and then packed up the gear and headed home. We returned a year later and recorded again.
