I've watching this so many times over the last three years. I have managed my own great prints with coreopsis. Thanks so much for the clear instructions.
Thank you so much for the demonstration on natural flower prints on fabric. Your results are stunning. I am from India, heading an NGO helping the underprivileged women in the community. Teaching this to the women will help them a lot for earning their money. Can you please explain how you pre treat the fabric, as well how you do a dye work after the eco print. Thank you once again, God Bless you.
Q
I would also like answers to the above questions.
In the past I have placed my fabrics in vinegar to soak overnight, but ecoprinting generally involves a diluted soy milk with a three turn saturation. Letting the fabric soak over night for three consecutive nights, taking it out for a solid wringing between soaks. It is then ready for the wooden hammer and board. I hope this helps and that your endeavors in India are productive. ❤
Wow! Thank you!! Love it! So great to be able to make your own 'fabric' Stunning
How amazing!!! Thank you beautiful young lady for this easier method to dying with flowers. Very cool. I will keep watching for any setting step.♥️ Thanks for the tip that you do not have to dry fabric first.👌 Congratulations on your baby!Babies, as I hear them in background.🥰
Thank you for going into such detail! You have been 100 percent more helpful than anyone else. So happy I found you 🥰❤
Thank you Jazmin! So glad you found this video helpful! 💛
So how is the fabric pretreated? Do you soak in soy milk?
I love how the yellow flowers turned bright orange/red with hints of yellow. I have bought meters of plain linen to try this as well as cotton, thank you for sharing I think I will, have to dive down the rabbit hole just to learn a lot more about this just to find out what flowers I can use.🤗🤗🤗

Your Instagram reels led me here. Thank you so much for this video!
Wonder job! Very nice video!
Ohhh Thank you! thank you! thank you! How ABSOLUTELY LOVELY! I’m new to eco printing. I attempted it years ago after following some rather poor instructions. (Or lack of)
I had no idea what a mordant was and was told to steam in vinegar? After hours of collecting lovely wildflowers I got one single print...that looked like someone stepped on a rusty spider. The cloth itself looked like it molded. I was disheartened to say the least.
You have given such thorough instructions, I feel inspired again! In fact, It’s 3am, i can’t sleep and am resisting the urge to get printing! 😂
I have almost EVERYTHING you’re using! Even the exact steamer and even FLOWERS! (I live in the mountain desert of NM, so flowers are rare) This year my 4 o clock perineal bushes went crazy and even bloomed new bushes in every crack nook and cranny! I literally have thousands of luscious bright hot pink flowers (my 4 o clock) and fields of country daisies (I think that’s what they are, they’re very similar to what you’re using)
I have NO MORDANT. Ferrous sulfate sounds SO familiar. I feel like i have some around here somewhere? Idk if I’m overtired or it was prescribed to me for something? Im not sure how the mordant process even works. I’m getting ready to watch the links you suggested. Perhaps I can find something.🤞
Can you please tell me how the hot pinkish red 4oclocks print. They’re so lovely and vibrant when they bloom, but instantly turn black when they fall off and die. I’m not sure how to place them either? They’re similar to a morning glory in that you can’t spread out petals and press. Also.. I have purple...weeds (although I’ve been told it might be Milo) that are so lovely. Does purple work as well? Sorry so long! You’ve just really inspired me! After my initial disappointment & all these years I thought I’d never try it again. I’m a biologist/zoologist environmentalist and artist. I want to eco print so badly for a botanical junk journal I’m creating! You’ve given me both the tools and knowledge and inspired my heart again! 🙏🏼!
Hi!! So exciting!! Sadly, vinegar is suggested as a mordant quite often online and it does absolutely nothing to help the dye bind onto fiber.
I’ve never worked with 4 o’clocks before but many pink flowers don’t print very well. It’s worth trying once you have your fiber properly mordanted.
I hope that you enjoy your printing projects! 💗
Wonderful work !! I just love this natural printing. Thanks for teaching. Love from India
Definitely will try!!
Thank you! Happy dyeing! :)
Gorgeous!😳💖

Oooh I really like the one with the most bleeding. It's like a stylized floral. I wonder if this would work with chicory! Has anyone here tried that? I'm obsessed with the chicory that lines the roads here in the Midwest.
Felicitaciones
Thank you.
You’re welcome Jo Anne!
Thanks... 👍
No loss if I mess up but I have a plain white linen sundress I'm going to do this too. Can't wait, it's so pretty and unique. Thank you for sharing.
Wonderful.... ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Nilly!
Harika bir teknik cok dogal özel kiyafetler dikilir
Thanks so much for a great video. Are all three pieces of fabric pre mordanted before you start?
Hi!
Love the video ❤ and the results on all were beautiful!.
I could see that as a summer dress...
I was wondering what you'd use those as.
I would cut the various components of a dress and do what you did.
I must try this someday. Thank you 😊
I had heard of eco dying but never seen it done, thank you! Excellent demonstration. I grow lots of zinnias, black eyed Susan, fox glove and a Mexican sunflower with 2-3 inch orange flowers. I'm going to try this!!
@Debra L Pate Art
All 3 look beautiful. You can make some awesome dresses for little girls out of those lovely fabrics, if not you can do some pretty pillow cases. TFS
Wonderful..👍👍
Thank you!
Thank you! The video is awesome and very easy to understand and follow the instructions! I enjoyed watching it very much and it turned out to be very relaxing!
I have one question remaining:
- What does it mean to steam?
- Should I boil water and after that place the clothes inside, so they are completely covered in water for 5-7 min?
