I've been into ADTR since about 2009 when my friend introduced me to Homesick. Of all their songs, this may very well be my favorite. It's really unique - super catchy, aggressive, displays the great vocal range, somehow melodic, and brilliant lyrics.
People say ADTR doesn't sound the same but I feel like their musical journey has been perfect progression of their sound. ADTR and Silverstein are the only bands that still have close roots to their original sound, love this album!
I think this song and Sometimes You're The Hammer are the best two songs on the album. Right Back At It Again and I'm Already Gone are really good as well.
_Sometimes when no ones left to listen ill sit and argue with myself. Say all the things I wish to tell you, without hurting someone else. Sha sha shake it off go get the things you want. I'll bottle the shame. bottle the shame. Just sha sha shake it off, and no one will ever know ( won't know )._ I think I fell in complete love with this song after the first time I listened to this song.
"Hey you, just do what you're told, do what you're told. Hey you, you're gonna be a star. As long as you'll let us we'll make you the person that you aren't. " ^ this just screams victory records reference
When the curtains fall It rolls, unwraps, reminds me the person that I am I'm still afraid, ashamed of what's behind me But you gave me the strength to stand … Sh-sh-sh-shake it off Go get the things you want I'll bottle the shame (Bottle the shame) Just sh-sh-shake it off, and no one will ever know (Won't know) … I'm a slave to all these voices in my head And I'm afraid, I'm afraid of what they've said I'm a slave … Sometimes when no one's left to listen I'll sit and argue with myself Say all the things I wish to tell you Without hurting someone else … Sh-sh-sh-shake it off Go get the things you want I'll bottle the shame (Bottle the shame) Just sh-sh-shake it off, and no one will ever know (Won't know) … I'm a slave to all these voices in my head And I'm afraid, I'm afraid of what they've said I'm a slave to all these voices in my head And I'm afraid they'll walk with me until my end … Stop Hey you, when'd ya get so cold? (When'd ya get so cold?) Hey you, just do what you're told, do what you're told Hey you, you're gonna be a star As long as you'll let us we'll make you the person that you aren't Yeah And I'm afraid I'm a slave to all these voices in my head And I'm afraid, I'm afraid of what they've said I'm a slave to all these voices in my head (I'm a slave) And I'm afraid they'll walk with me until my end (I'm afraid) … Sh-sh-sh-shake it off I'll bottle the shame (Bottle the shame) I'll bottle the shame (Bottle the shame)
my favorite line is "sometimes when no one's left to listen I'll sit and argue with myself, say all the things I wish to tell you without hurting someone else"
Amazing song from an amazing album. The variety in songs is fantastic. So many bands, especially this genre, have albums where front to back you can't distinguish between songs because they're all the same. Adtr has a range, and they're fantastic at both heavy, mellow, and everything in between.
This song is just absolutely perfect. This song is literally me put into lyrics, however cliche it may sound. I've had it playing on repeat for like 2 hours now. I might even sleep to it...
Common Courtesy have a special place in my heart, first because the whole thing is awesome, this album don't has a single bad song, and second because it was in the Common Courtesy Latin American Tour i saw ADTR live for the first time, they pulled out a great show, i will always remember the night, thanks ADTR for everything, you are one of my favorite bands
I love that part so much! I will be listening to this song with headphones on and every time that part comes, I say Stop with him! I have definitely seen people are me stop what they are doing. It makes me laugh to myself. I just keep doing what I am doing and they look puzzled. lol.
I never thought that I'll come back to this song almost 8 years later just to say that I've been related to this situation so bad, at least for last couple years.
This Song reminds me of a woman I knew for such a long time and fell in love with it. Didn’t have the courage to tell her I loved her until I was married
"I'm a slave to all these voices in my head, And I'm afraid, I'm afraid of what they've said. I'm a slave to all these voices in my head, And I'm afraid they'll walk with me until my end." If this is your idea of happy, I'm worried for you.
I got a tattoo of a latin quotation over a year ago across my chest. It reads "Nemo liber est qui corpori servit" translation "no one is free who is a slave to their own body" It relates to so many self doubts and vices like this song is about.
I hope every problem of theirs end soon and they find a decent record company. Nevertheless, they showed that without a record a band can still produce awesome music that everyones loves and adore.
I think it means Life at 11 as in life at 11 years of age. Or maybe 11 years in the music business (because they've been official since '03, so it makes sense)
maybe it could mean literally what it says..life at 11...like 11pm at night...feeling like a slave to voices. could be talking about self hate depression or fear, but also the line that says as long as you let us we'll make you the person you aren't, or you gave me strength to stand, could be meaning trying to help someone out of their own personal darkness. ??? I dunno just taking some guesses, that's what I kinda "imagine" when i hear this.
StarRimmedGlasses Idk though cause this whole album is dedicated to how fucked up victory records is and I can hear that alot in that song "hey you your gonna be a star, as long as you let us we'll make you the person that you aren't" I want to say that the name of this song as some type of significance to that
roboytoaight could be him talking to him self at night you knwo? like what do we all do around 11pm when were trying to sleep? we just think. and this song goes deeper than we probably now.
Still mad this song wasn't bigger, my favorite ADTR song
This entire album is one of the most underrated albums of all time. Fell in love with it and especially this song from the first listen.

Couldn't agree more. Every band changes it's called growing up. And usually the fan base will grow with them.

yelling stop at 1:59 is one of my favorite moments of this song.
My dad passed away about 2 weeks before this album dropped.. this band got me through so much shit man. I love you ADTR❤️
the suspense at 1:53 was always my favorite part
hola eres hermosa , bye (:
🖤🖤🖤
That bridge with the voices and the instrumental that follows get me everytime
Fuckin A man - brilliant
my favorite line is "sometimes when no one's left to listen I'll sit and argue with myself, say all the things I wish to tell you without hurting someone else"

1:59 gives me chills each time I hear it.
I love that part so much! I will be listening to this song with headphones on and every time that part comes, I say Stop with him! I have definitely seen people are me stop what they are doing. It makes me laugh to myself. I just keep doing what I am doing and they look puzzled. lol.

Alchohlica This album is literally full of bangers, though.
Most underrated album of all time imo
I bought this album when it came out and only listened to violence until now. I'm obsessed with these songs now.

I think this is my favorite song off this album...I think I replayed this song about 10 times on my first listen through the album.
STAHP
tjd2466 I like to think on the lyric sheet Jeremy actually wrote it like that.
This has become one of my favorite songs in recent times

I never thought that I'll come back to this song almost 8 years later just to say that I've been related to this situation so bad, at least for last couple years.
-favorite song-
This Song reminds me of a woman I knew for such a long time and fell in love with it. Didn’t have the courage to tell her I loved her until I was married
My favorite song on the album. Oh, I bought their sweater from their store, with the album art from CC. Best. Sweater. Ever.

This song still slaps so hard ✌teleport me to a different time
Please make this your next single!
This is the best freaking band !!!!!!!!😍😍😍😍😍
Reminds me of Another Song About The Weekend because it's like the happiest song on the album.
"I'm a slave to all these voices in my head,
And I'm afraid, I'm afraid of what they've said.
I'm a slave to all these voices in my head,
And I'm afraid they'll walk with me until my end."
If this is your idea of happy, I'm worried for you.
Yeah that's what I meant haha. Minus the lyrics, it sounds pretty happy
***** The sound isn't as happy as Leave All The Lights On or I Surrender ;)
Porkchop King So I Remember is less happier than this song? KK GUYS
Skylark I never said that dude?
STILL FIRE 🔥🔥🔥
I needed this song today
i miss adtr :'( i hope i see them again
LUVZ this song !!!!!!
This song grew on me 2nd time :) TIME TO LISTEN TO THE OTHER SONGS!
I got a tattoo of a latin quotation over a year ago across my chest. It reads "Nemo liber est qui corpori servit" translation "no one is free who is a slave to their own body" It relates to so many self doubts and vices like this song is about.

Best adtr song
Dem feels @ 2:00
STOP.
that totally surprised me lol. awesome
I can relate to this song too well im afraid
I've listened to most of the Cd, it's pretty good. I love how they bring in the singer of Paramore on one song, she killed it.
What song is Haley on? Don't remember hearing her and I've listened to this album a lot.
Haley is not featured on this record at all
I think he may have been confused with If it means a lot to you...and that's still doesn't have Haley on it. This guys' on dope.
The only person that this album features is Lil Jon. You can hear his part at 2:42.
if it had haley williams, they would've mentioned it
Stop!! I fucking love this
Amazing song!
im afraaaaaaaaa iiiiiiiiiiiid♥
I'm a slave myself
Yeaaaaah!!
The lyrics of this song sound like maybe what he’s going through right now...
I hope every problem of theirs end soon and they find a decent record company. Nevertheless, they showed that without a record a band can still produce awesome music that everyones loves and adore.
I think they decided to just publish their music under their own label now, hence their channel ADTR Records.
I think you are right. best of luck to them :) thank you :)
***** They have their own record label now. One reason I respect them heavily.
same here! I'm really proud of them :)

I can't find the guitar chords for these, does anyone know them?
Why is Same Book But Never the Same Page not on here??
i wonder what means the "@ 11"
I think it means Life at 11 as in life at 11 years of age. Or maybe 11 years in the music business (because they've been official since '03, so it makes sense)

I always thought it had something to do with television, as in, "More at 11," or "News at 11", "Life at 11."
FUCKING LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!!
