I feel like South Africans should not be upset at the foreigners. If you are someone who is facing turmoil or poverty in your home country you will do anything to make a better life for yourself. The problem is the immigration policies and administration processes. The gvt should have proper procedures for immigration and conduct thorough background checks. There are benefits to immigration if done properly. People should be upset with Home affairs and not happy that they exposed this girls identity. Home affairs should be embarrassed and not exposing their incompetence.
I 💯 agree. But the anger from South African's for being insulted by foreigners and calling us all sorts of names "xenophobic", and such.... Is warranted.
My own life has taught me that ME loving someone else is not an excuse to accept unloving behaviour. My Mom likes saying it's like waiting for a Streetwise 2 at Build It 🤣🤣🤣
18:18 I hear your chat and I agree to an extent. It's just that the main issue we are having is the generalisations of Nigerians living in SA ( Nigerians are illegal immigrants, drug dealers, etc.), not all of us in SA are like that. In addition, there's more anger towards Nigerians (justifiable when concerning the actual people who making native SAans uncomfortable in their own country, not just Nigerians) compared to other nationalities living in SA.
I always say to hell with trying to threaten us with the word xenophobia. Victims of crimes will always be xenophobic towards illegal immigrants who commit crimes and identity fraud in our countries. Should we be ashamed of calling out crimes? No, we will not keep quiet. We will however welcome those who are honest and legal. Thank you, Katz, for touching this topic.
Being a litigant, there are a lot of offences associated with your Sunday Iyokes. It’s a frustration to the justice system as they are untraceable. Commit an offence and move to another town and they become Oji Odelayo. No prints, no ID and no way of finding them. Life goes on and another string of human trafficking, brothels, drug trafficking and building hijackings start. Also, their arrogance from the knowledge that only their runners (mostly desperate poor SA people) get caught. You don’t see us investing this much energy on any other illegal immigrants as most come here and offer themselves for honest work.
