As a commercial stone mason, who works in restoration, I saw something that might be a good way to help sell the reality of the stairs.
Stone steps, when they are used heavily, tend to smooth out in the middle from the foot traffic. Given the aluminum that they were wrapped in a pass with a finger/coffee stir stick/popsicle stick in the middle to flatten them a bit, might work to show that wear.
Beautiful work on the corridors. Have you had any issues with cardboard warping on the tiles you're making? I'm considering using an MDF board bases of all of mine to try and avoid that.
    Again, awesome work.

I usually use a mix of mostly pva glue or mod podge and a bit of black paint. Helps seal the cardboard and lessens warping in my experience

Wyloch, by profession I'm actually an archaeologist, and I've been inside many sites built out of basalt and tufa and other volcanic materials, as well as working inside old lava flows. I must say, you've perfectly nailed the color palette and even texture of those igneous rocks in your design. Also, just great work in general, keep it up!

Just as a note, with room 24, you really don't want to shrink that room...several of the other encounter rooms are also not ones you want to shrink. The main reason is that with several of them, part of the balancing of the encounters depends heavily on the room for it.

The muddy floors and stagnant water looks gross in a good way. I also really like your new take on 2.5 D stairs.
It looks like you will be able to fit White Plume Mountain on your gaming table. That should keep you from having to touch up your garage floor for the end display.
This one is close to my heart as I have run that 3rd edition module that you are using for reference. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the kayak room. (I mean take your time and move at what you deem an appropriate pace but I anticipate it greatly)

Bill I love your new look for your dungeon tiles. Good job. One other thing and I know you are falling the module because I checked. Is that spiral staircase it goes around in the opposite direction of most real life spiral staircases. Just thought I'd point that out. Since majority of people are right handed and if you're going down a spiral staircase clockwise you could have an encounter were everyone has to roll at a disadvantage.

I feel where your confusion came from with room 4. The description states the items will drop into the muck below. When I read that I was thinking the water too. Maybe the floor is still moss and slime (not aggressive slime) covered? Maybe a simple spray of matt paint can resolve the happy little accident... though I just read you'd already redid the room! LOL Love your vids! Keep them coming!
