I bought one about a year ago for my nighttime delivery job, I just wear it over my baseball hat. I work 3 night a week so this headlight is used constantly. The power last all night for me in the lower setting of the COB and although I don’t like the charging port cover either (being so loose), it has worked so far. I just charge it in my truck on the 30 min drive into work, and it’s good to go all night.
I just got a similar one. It has 3 light bars and the charge port is on the bottom, not the back.... and I LOVE IT! The flap that protects the usb-c port protects it better and feel that it is a little more protected by water since the usb-c port is facing downwards and less suseptable to water intrusion than facing backwards.
I have this, it’s new today. Only issue so far is that when the sensor mode is on (which I thought would be great with oily hands under a car) it turns off when you stick you head up to See something and it gets too close to the car parts and turns off.
I have two of these. They work great. They last for about 6 hours full blast. Takes a couple hours to charge. My only complaint, the band is sewed around the clips that allow for tightening. The sewing became undone and the band is now useless.
I'd say keeping a small square of electrical tape over the charging port area would keep it waterproof if you were working in wet areas. Thanks for the review!
CHARGING QUESTION: Does the green charging light change when fully charged? I'm concerned the charger does not shut off automatically. I LOVE THE UNIT - it's like "daylight" and shadows are not as sharp since line light source. I like the illumination field better than my Coast.
The port cover doesnt just lay there .. push it in properly dude .. they are actually hard to scrape out once they are pushed in to seal .. ps I do agree with the Side light reflecting in your glasses (that is a bit annoying)
I have a suggestion for the charging port cover. How about placing a small bit of rubber cement on each side of that cover so it would maybe fit a little more snug.
I wanted to know how the LED status tells you whether it's charged. I plugged it in and it's solid red - does that mean it's already charged or ...? On the other one I have, it flashes blue when it's not yet fully charged and goes to solid blue when it's charged.
sorry if it's been asked already , when charging , after it is fully charged does it stop the charging ? Also , does the red light turn green when it's finished charging ? just bought one 20mnis ago
I have same question. But "we" may have an answer. I just got mine and haven't used more than a couple minutes. When I put on charge, the charge light is GREEN. So if yours is RED when you put it on charge, I'm betting it will turn GREEN when fully charged. I'll try to post back if I confirm. (Did you figure out how the charger works in the mean time?)
@@NoferTrunions I left it to charge light was red , after 2.5 hours it stayed red , I picked it up to see . After 3hours on charge it was still red but when I picked it up it turned green. I then left it on , on the cob strip on brightest setting and it stayed on for 3hours I think , it was still reasonably bright though just before it turned off . Put it back on charge after and it was the same as before , only when I picked it up it changed to green , so I don't think it stops charging after it is fully charged . Odd though how yours is green whilst it is charging , unless it was already fully charged . Will be interesting to hear your reply
@@jayk2k I think mine was fully charged and so GREEN. I used a USB power meter and the amps are zero with a blip of about 50 ma every few seconds - I'm guessing this is what it does when fully charged. Have to run it down so I get a RED during charge, will report amps.
@@jayk2k Ran it down, charged at 150 ma and the green light stays on. Amps decline to zero. Green light never changes. So there is no indication when it is fully charged and it also appears it's no big deal to leave it on charge. A little disappointed the light does not change. Not much of a complaint for a cost of $3.77 Crazy Eddie value at that price.
From what another poster said, his charge light is RED. My new unit which I used for only a couple minutes, my charge light is GREEN. I'm guessing when it needs charged it starts RED and turns to GREEN when done. My Harbor Freight foldable COB work light charges that way. I have tried it on my bike helmet and front part it just slips off. Need to be careful of the back of the headband, the part that covered the led it would peel off and expose the wires to the LED. It's a light-duty headlight band, not made for heavy-duty use.
So I'm guessing you probably wouldn't want to wear this outside in the summer time with the motion sensor on while the bugs are coming at your head towards the light and you're swatting the bugs turning the light on and off, lol I'm sure it's a great light, I would like to try it but that's the 1st thing that came to mind with the motion sensor, LMFAO 🤣 but great video !
I don’t think the bugs will activate the motion sensor, but they will be attached to the light (no red light mode like other models offer). But it does set off my radar detector if the motion sensor is on (says, Laser Alert), scares me every time.
Not friendly replaceable. You can get the electronic assembly out the bottom of the rubber - it will have 2 wires connecting to the COB. It looks like cell replacement will require disassembly of the unit and probably soldering/desoldering.

Push hard on the port cover, mine seals tight and flat, but is hard to pop out without fingernails or a small screwdriver.
Thanks for explaining how the two buttons work .

What are the little black clippies in the box for?
No one can seem to figure those clips out. I’ve watched a couple videos and no one knows! Lol
Hardhat clips
That would be great for when wareing gloves or of your hands are dirty
Thanks for the light hearted but effective review. Would this be wide enough to go around a medium size bike/skate helmet? 🤔
Thanks for the instructions
What are the 8 clips used for?
Nice review. Just got one and you nailed it
I have one too. It's a good headlight but it's not made to last according to other users on amazing.
Is there a low battery indicator?
Does the lite sensor Triger wen you're head gets near any object or it hand only ?
Yes

Red LED lights on the back would be a nice added safety-style feature for anyone that walks or jogs during winter evenings when the sun sets early.

Mine doesn’t just hang there and I wear glasses with no issues using the side light
The headlight has a sizing belt clip on the back so it isn’t a problem with glasses when proper adjusted (tightened).
motion sensor for people that fall asleep outside public ,specially at work

No Green Color..just Red and White...kinda blows
So do you.
No (no red or green), you have a choice of white or white spot light.
Thank you for not showing an actual demonstration outside or even in the rest of the room
You're welcome
Seriously? The actual demonstration is obviously the most important part.
