Did the “safety” lock out and not let the boom lower again ? Often these safety lockout mechanisms stop you retracting or lowering the boom and I think that’s more dangerous than the safety element. I’ll bet your father never had that problem before the advent of these “safety measures”. Good luck and keep up the good work 👍

I agree theres no need for gps and auto steer I drive a lexion 8900 and I never use gps or auto steer, also I always blow the combine down before filling up as it makes things a little easier
I have lifted the back wheels of the ground once or twice but never any thing like that Wow. As you said Nick no one was hurt. At least your getting your harvest done and fields cleared ready the next crop. Great video Nick

@@mtl-ss1538 Congrats on getting and breaking the world record for a wheat crop in New Zealand. This is the UK and we will never have a world record for a grain crop because of weather and ground conditions.
I’ve done some pushing up of Wheat, Sugar beet and Grass seed too. It defo can catch you out at times. Have to admit, never had one go that high on me lol. Pleased your Dad was ok Nick.
I’d be so happy doing this. Especially on a cart.

In the photo of your loadall tipped up the boom looks fully in which means it's in bucket mode and the orange light will be on the LLMI unit which mean the cut out will not kill the hydraulics, when you push the boom out the green light will come on the LLMI unit which mean it's in safe mode and hydraulics will slow down and switch off.
Also if the machine was in gear and moving the system switches from green mode into orange mode and the hydraulics will not lock out. It is good your dad is ok and will work another day!
You can press the little book in the cab & that over rides the lockout,just a little thing i learnt when wanting extra reach with the bale spreader😊

Up were I am it’s completely un heard of to get the moisture below around 16% so everything get dried !

There was a fatality near us a while back the jcb went into a slurry pit. But in a level grain shed with the boom in 🤔
Bugger! Glad your dad's ok but that's definitely one for the grandkids! As you say, people rely on the technology now, same with cars and there reverse warning bleeps. Hear a couple of people had them fail and reverse into things 😂🙈. Glad your cracking on still, hopefully next week will be kind to us
Yes too much tech nowadays 😖 with that and the stone it hasn’t been the smoothest of harvests 🙄 cracking on now though 👍👍

I have thought this for a while. We become so used to the technology keeping use safe we can loose that seat of Ur pants feel for a machine. Really glad nobody was hurt and no damage was caused. Looks like Ur getting there with Ur harvest just hope weather behaves

How long can the combine keep going between unloads? Glad your Dad's okay!
When I used to push up corn we had no sensors on the forklift so if you push up with the bucket tipped then the corn will come out if the loader lifts off the ground so that will not happen 🤔👌👍
I do the same Malcolm, Dad was moving from one shed to the other so had the bucket tipped all the way back 😬

Glad you're dad's unhurt and bet he said a naughty word or ten. Quite surprised as the boom wasn't hardly out.

He did retract the boom as the wheels went up but also tried to tip the grain out of the bucket which obviously sent the weight forward lifting the rear even more 🤦♂️

Oh I see. I think I'd have tried to lower the boom but who knows in the panic of the moment.

Great video Nick / your Dad 👍👍 wouldn’t the loader lower itself by lowering the boom I’m sure you would have tried that just a weird one I guess I’ve never had a loader lift up as high I normally lower it or retract the boom in so it goes back down ?? Well at least everyone was ok 👌👍👍

Glad you’re dad’s ok how much fuel dos the combine use a day
Obviously depends on how long the day is, but probably average around 400L
Glad all safe but if I didn't lockout he would have been able to lower it slowly and safely like you could on the old ones without lockouts much safer than leaving you in dangerous position.

I had a brown trousers moment a few year ago where I slid the tractor down a hill (wet grass) luckily managed to keep it straight 😬

Thanks Antony, he tells me he tried to retract the boom as the back wheels went up but at the same tried tipping the bucket but obviously the weight of the grain when tipping pushed it forward even more 😬😬

Would the solution to lowering the loader just be to lower the arm
You come down a bit quick doing it that way, it would throw you around in the cab and wouldn’t do the machine much good.
That loaders been nothing but trouble since u got it.maybe it's time they replaced it
How did the loader do that
A combination of the lock out not working and maybe too much forward speed,
