I didn't want this to win UMK. But I didn't want this to get last place either. Benjamin was my second favourite of this year's UMK. He totally deserved better.
Even though Benjamin ended up last (which he didn't deserve!), he still is my number one. The song is iconic and he really delivered a great live performance! 🤩
Hopefully Benjamin will come back in the future to win UMK!
I'd say nobody deserved to be last. Not the strongest of selections this year but they all delivered on stage

Livelaulu ei tosiaan mennyt putkeen edes basistin korvilla arvioituna, mutta en minä tätä kappaletta ja esitystä olisi kyllä millään logiikalla sijoittanut viimeiseksi! Viime vuonna kehnolla livelaululla päästiin ihan edustamaan asti, joten jännä, jos tässä biisissä se nousi kynnyskysymykseksi 😅
@Twisted Elegance En ajattele, että teknisesti hyvän laulusuorituksen pitäisi olla ihan ehdotonta viisumenestystä saadakseen, koska kilpailu on mielestäni ensisijaisesti kappale- ja esiintymiskilpailu. Benjaminin kappale on vauhdikas ja tarttuva (joskaan se ei tehnyt minuun ihan ensikuulemalta vaikutusta) sekä saanut ihan hyvin kuunteluita ja kehuja, joten lähinnä näistä kulmista ihmettelen viimeistä sijaa. Itse olisin sijoittanut viimeiselle sijalle Lxandran, sillä kappale on omaan makuuni liian viipyilevä eikä siinä harmikseni edetty mihinkään erityiseen huippukohtaa, joka on balladeille aika tärkeää. Hän toki osaa laulaa hyvin.
@Twisted Elegance Mutta silleen että ku kyl Benjamin osaa laulaa, musta tuntuu että sitä vaan jännitti liikaa. Muuten ton esityksen kokonaisuus oli tosi hyvä, joten mun mielestä ei ois hyvä että heti tuomittais jos menis joku vähä huonosti ku tässäki uskon että se johtu vaan jännityksessä ja eri kerralla menis paremmin
Tuo pyörivällä lavalla esiintyminen meni hyvin. Polvistuminen ja laulaminen on vaikeaa, koska pallealle ei jää tarpeeksi laulamiseen tarvittavaa työtilaa. En ole laulaja, mutta suvussa on muusikkoja ja olen heitä pienestä pitäen kiinnostuneena kuunnellut.
Kysyin teininä vinkkejä äänen kestämiseen pitkää esitelmää varten ja minulle taottiin päähän se, että pallean pitää olla kunnolla iskussa ja selän suorassa. Lysyssä olo heikentää heti ääntä ja sitten joutuu rääkkäämään kurkkua loppua kohden. Pitkänä teininä ei ollut mitenkään mukava ohje kun käskettiin oikaisemaan selkä, että ääni kulkee kunnolla.
@@OonaEskeli Suomeksi ESC kääntyy monella väärin, koska laulu tarkoittaa kahta asiaa. Ei se ole Eurovision laulamiskilpailu. Siinä haetaan Eurovision parasta kappaletta, joka lauletaan. Ehkä se saksan ja ruotsin sana schlager eli iskevä sävel on hyvä selittämään, että mitä kilpailussa haetaan. Sitä iskevää kappaletta.

I don’t care what the scoreboard says, this came second in my mind. OMG congrats Benjamin on that ABSOLUTELY DESERVED SECOND PLACE! @@juneau2542 Was he singing out of tune sometimes? Yes. Was the song amazing? Hell yes. Actually I am glad that Kaarija won, as they are my no 1, though Benjamin did not deserve the last place (but second). Lxandra was out of tune many times as well, had a boring song and staging, and placed way higher (3rd?). Portion boys were also much overrated.

@@GermanicESC it wasn't the worst act of the day (and I would like to say it loud and clear that the NF in Finland was my favourite among all NF's so far!, and none of the acts was in a 'trash' category) but Kuumaa and Benjamin deserved better. When I saw the guy with drums on the segway I was flabbergasted 🤣 this is defenitely something to remember!

An amazing song and performance! The fact that this came last speaks about the level that UMK had this year. By far the best national final of the 2023 Eurovision season.

@@MrCrazy-dq8nq Benjamin’s round stage was going all the time around itself. It was hard to walk backwards and sing. To kneel and sing by a pure way is pretty impossible for everyone. You can try it at home. The Finnish language is naturally gender neutral so this song will be an epic sexy song.
The lyrics are not too vulgar or raunchy. Those are like thoughts, when you have a horny mood. This is like Je’t aime moi non plus but in Finnish. And Benjamin is like a god on stage.

@@MrCrazy-dq8nq Benjamin has a rotating disc as his own stage on the stage. He had to move himself, pay attention for staying on that rotating disc and singing. Then it is very hard to kneel and sing. That kneeling was unnecessary for example for me.

The light contrast on the staging actually works very well! I was scared about his vocals but hey, they weren't bad, they could be better but it's super solid. Happily surprised!!
Seriously last place? Even if the vocal performance was maybe less good than in the recorded version I think it deserved at least the top 3. It is surely the song of UMK that I liked the most this year. Pitty !!

If someone isn't the best singer it doesn't automatically make them a "bad singer" or that they "can't sing". It's not so black and white. Benjamin has room to improve but in no means is he a BAD singer. Also, singing while you move and dance and people all over Europe are watching is super difficult. This coming from a singer

Ja ei toisaankaan Benjamin ansainnut viimeistä sijaa. Omalla UMK TOP-listalla tämä oli kokoajan top3:sessa. Loistava tarttuva melodia ja saundit tässä biisissä.
Jäi harmittamaan tuo laulu, koska kenraalissa Benjamin lauloi tosi hyvin. Viimeinen sija ei kyllä todellakaan ollut se oikea paikka tälle kappaleelle.

Jep! Hermot tais koetella ääntäki. Tuntu että ois voinu antaa enemmän laulun kannalta. Yleisöäänet varmaan tippu juuriki vokaalien takia, biisi ja esitys oli super hyviä. Stara ainesta.
Benkulla on luontaista lavakarismaa. Sitä ei voi ostaa eikä harjoitella. Ääntään voi aina kehittää ja sitä varten on opettajia ja vocal coacheja. Benkulla on ollut niin monta rautaa tulessa viime aikoina, ettei laulutunneilla ole varmaan ehtinyt päiväsaikaan käymään ja missäpä sitä yöllä laulua opetettaisiin? Tästä on hyvä jatkaa.

Oli kyllä yllätys ne pisteet! :/ Mutta epäilen, että koska se kasvihuonevideo on ihan tajunnan räjäyttävä kokonaisuus, tällöin live ehkä nähtiin epäonnistuneena. Kokonaisuus vaikuttaa niin paljon, myös asu, hiukset ja tausta/lavasteet vaikuttaa nekin. Biisi jää ehdottomasti mun soittolistoilleni ja se kasvihuonevideo! 😍

Benjamin oli ihana Logomossa, otti yleisön mahtavasti mukaan. Paikan päällä laulu oli ok, mutta miksaus vaikutti heikolta. Jälkikäteen ruudusta ääni ja miksaus ei vaan toiminut?! Mutta biisi on loistava, mies takaisin kehiin vaan🤩❤️

The Swedish music industry is phenomenal to dig out all treasures and can use all possible channels to sell songs and artists. Benjamin is like born to be on stage. It’s a pity we don’t have such kind of strong music industry and traditions like Sweden has.
