The Shepherd's life sounds interesting, but the issues you had would jar me as well! I think you would really like The Girl Who Drank The Moon, it has similar messages to Ogress and Orphans but is more concise.
I still Shepherd's Life is worth the read. It was his debut and I've heard from a friend that his writing has improved a lot! Good to know about The Girl Who Drank the Moon!
I can see why! Plotwise, I think Shadows of Self was my favorite, but The Lost Metal was very satisfying, especially with the Easter eggs and Wayne's arc.
Yeaaaah Scorpio Races #1 book of Nov!! Winning 🥇 Thank you for reading, enjoying, and vlogging it. It was such a treat for me and I loved revisiting it with your vlog to look forward to 🥹
So glad you enjoyed Era 2 of Mistborn! I haven't read The Lost Metal yet, but I enjoyed the other 3 and I'm looking forward to getting to it at some point. My favorite book of November was probably either Messenger by Lois Lowry or The Women by Kristin Hannah. (Two very, very different books! But both very good.)
@beautifulminutiae hm that's hard to say! The main theme is so different. I think Adorning the Dark was more enjoyable, because God in the Garden is about (among other things) his struggles with depression. But GITG stuck with me way more than ATD. Hence me wanting to reread it.
Mostly talking about how Wendell Berry's writing talked so much about connection to the land and evoked such a strong feeling in him that he bought property in the country 😊
Merry Christmas ❄️❄️❄️
Merry Christmas to you too!
What a cute snowman over your shoulder!⛄️
My sister bought him for me a couple of years ago and I LOVE him!
Jack is watching this with me and said he loved it too 😂
@victoria9663 that’s so cute 🥰
My favorite November read was Children of My Heart by Gabrielle Roy.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
That one sounds so sweet!
@@beautifulminutiae it’s sweet, but not without humanness. Not saccharine. & Roy’s writing is immersive and enveloping.
I really enjoyed TLM, but I think Tenant won the month for me. So clearly I’m thankful for your book recs 💜
Tenant was higher than The Lost Metal for me also!
@ just a couple of sisters twinnin’ 🙃😍

Lost Metal was my favorite of the second era❤

Thank YOU for such a great suggestion! I really loved it!
Kelly Barnhill has one book I have enjoyed and I have read 5.
Which one did you enjoy?

I haven’t read either of those yet! But they’re both on my tbr. Hope you enjoy The Lost Metal whenever you get to it!
I love Adorning the Dark!! Im currently rereading God in the Garden.
I haven’t read that one yet! Do you like one better than the other? Or are they pretty equal?

Ohhh a reference to Wendell Berry?? What did he say?

It's actually snowy here, so this emoji is quite fitting
