@@Kosmicd12 The interesting part of the castle music happened right at the end when it was sped up (25:54) but I don't know if it happened because of some sound glitch

i think the reason the last half of the game is less designed is the creator expected you to use the warp to 8
In Zelda II there is an enemy "Gooma" that is almost exactly like a hammer bro.. why did they use a moblin instead!?
It's not even a moblin, it's a weird hunched over Iron Knuckle lol. Yeah it would've worked well with lizalfos or dinalfos too, but nope just a random enemy that fights nothing like a hammer bro and doesn't even use little axes like they added to it...

This is a really cool hack, but I wish it had some more Zelda music in it, there are a lot of pieces to choose from.

It's from wayyyyyy back before pretty much any hacks even tried to edit the music. Well, it did seem to *try* and horribly fail lol. Luckily these days something like this would be pretty much guaranteed to have some nice Zelda tunes, I'm sure there's a more modern Zelda SMB1 hack than this...
It's like the creator of this hack wanted you to go to warp zone in 4-2 because they thought that they haven't put that much effort in later levels. Cool sprites, decent level design, some interesting choices so not not bad. Potential to be much better was there but a hack of this old, I'd say it was good work. Good insights how this game works as well.
I like how in the 4-2 warp zone you even know a glitch for how to die quickly.

This reminded me of Super Mario Crossover, which is amazing. I checked it and it is still on the website. It isn't technically a romhack, but I recommend that you play it if you haven't already.

I did not know that Bowser had a brother. I want a game where he is a is a major plot point: Main villain, working with Bowser, or rivalling him causing trouble simultaneously with one of Bowser's plans.
I remember playing a version of this where Ganon was nothing but his head on a snake body.
Hilariously, no one bothered to fix his hitbox(it was the same as Bowser's), so he could still end you by touching thin air!
That Link sprite from Zelda 2 was a missed opportunity for the Master Sword powerup in Mario Maker 2. Instead, they went with tiny link.

This hack is actually cooler than I thought it would be. Alot of these switched sprites hacks are trash, but this one was actually shown a little love

That's not really a romhack. It's built on it's own engine. Unless there is a romhack version and I'm dumb, but the only version I've seen is the online one.

They made amazing levels in the earlier level and then its like they getting bored and just copy it, but 8-4 was good. Started from world 5 I feel kinda boring because its the same SMB1 but I LOVEEE the sprites, the visual was so good, like a beautiful paintings

HAHAHA Doing the bullet glitch looks exactly like the fast way to kill a bubble with your sword in Zelda 2!!!(except it's a little slower and in the downstab…and of course no glitch artifact……and you may drift to the side…)

I think the game intended for you to use the warp zone because all of the levels were different from the original until after 4-2
in that case why wouldn't there be a warp zone in 1-2

I mean, Super Mario Bros. Crossover added Link, Ryu, Simon, and many others, and this was YEARS ago. Not too surprising Nintendo saw it as free real estate.
? Nintendo didn't make it. Also this came out way before crossover and is actually built off the original game whereas crossover is not
@@Kosmicd12 I didn't mean for my comment to sound like I thought Nintendo made it, sorry it came across that way. I know SMB Crossover was made by ExplodingRabbit, as I was a supporter of Jay in the past (they went on to try to make a game called "Super Retro Squad" which never came to fruition to my knowledge). I meant Nintendo probably saw that fangame and thought it was a neat idea and got inspired. Didn't know this came out before Crossover though, neat.

You cant swim in water in mario 1, only in underwater stages you can swim

Vanilla means base game engine with no added custom mechanics. Or it can also mean that some part is exactly the same as the original game (in randomizers, an item appears in its original location, or in this case, some levels are the same as the original game). It is a very common term in the romhacking world.
