I’ve been in your shoes…It’s really NOT fair to new teachers whether to a room/school to HAVE to clean someone else’s “mess.” I’ve had to do that the 7 times through the years that I’ve moved/changed grade levels and it’s been horrible each time!! When I leave I leave it clean, why can’t others have that same courtesy?!
Btw I’m also a Kinder teacher so if you need help or have questions about anything I can help!!
Your classroom is so nice! My only suggestion is to make sure you can see all the areas of your classroom when you’re seated at your kidney table. Keep the sight lines wide open. It helps so you can make sure the kids are making good choices.

Ex-teacher here. I would go with the alphabet words that will be decodable by at least some of the children by the end of the year and/or contain the graphemes you will teach. Car and heart both contain digraphs/trigraphs, which seem too advanced and could cause confusion, so I would go with cat and hat.

Classroom is looking really nice! You are making wonderful progress! I would just toss all the "extra stuff", so unfair that you have to deal with that. I don't understand why teachers do not clean out their rooms when moving or retiring!

Eeek !! I've always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher so this video is so cool!! I had no idea teachers bought their own stuff to decorate their rooms 😭 !! I'm going into college next year for a liberal studies degree to be one and I'm so excited!!!

What printer do you use? Your laminated stuff looks good. I feel like my printer doesn’t print out stuff as bright as it should.
Hey! I use the HP Officejet 5740, it was purchased a couple of years ago, on sale! I also have the HP Instant ink plan which saves me SO MUCH money!
Dump everything in those cabinets. Things you will want or need you can find on TpT, internet, or create yourself. Don’t waste precious planning time cleaning out others dated and useless stuff. If I were you I’d get rid of both cabinets and keep the small black cubbies to make your library space and center’s space bigger. Good luck!

YEP! This took me two years to do. I was afraid to do it, and I realized finally...yeah I'm never looking through or using this !
