  • Hello everyone and welcome back to another SOUTHEND AVIATION trip report!
    First time flying with TUI for a few years now, this time on their 737-800 down to Kefalonia, Greece from London Gatwick! My aircraft was one I’ve flown on before, G-FDZF, which I flew down to Gran Canaria a few years ago. Nice to be flying with TUI again, always bring a holiday vibe just looking at them! Join me in a few days where I’ll be flying back to Gatwick on one of EasyJet’s A321NEOs! Enjoy!
    Special thanks to Elliot for joining me on this trip! / theplanehub

    This airport has surprisingly more life than most including YVR! 😮 It really is a good sign that life is adapting to the current situation, after all it must go on huh? wonderful vlog 😊

    Nice report mate. Brings back good memories! The Alps blew me away when I first flew over them, and then the ice crystals melting as you drop into the warmth of the med. Good times. 👍✈️

    The reason the drinks services is an hour after take off is so people can use the toilet and not have to wait until after the drinks service. Also, as there is only one drinks service, it spreads the flight out. The reason for only one is to minimise the number of people passing through the cabin.
    Engines probably sound quieter as reverse thrust only occasionally used.

    Always wondering why TUI always uses the least amount of reverse thrust upon landing even at smaller airports... XD

    • @SOUTHENDAVIATION
      @SOUTHENDAVIATION  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, just different airline pilot characteristics I guess

      SOUTHEND AVIATION Usually depends on their policy. I think TUI just wants to be greener and not use so much thrust unless it’s absolutely needed.

      @SOUTHENDAVIATION  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are said to be one of the greenest airlines in the UK! 👍

      Nothing to do with pilot characteristics! Reverse thrust is rarely used! It’s TUI procedure. It was used yesterday at Corfu, due to weather.

      @@davidhobbs8623 I also think that their pilots are more experienced and land in a way that they can avoid using reverse thrust unless absolutely needed.
