Thank you thank you thank you! Can't wait to send this to my mom. While I live in Colorado, she still lives in Denbigh, Newport News, Virginia, where I grew up and went to Denbigh High! You're the BEST🐲🍻

Cheers welshbloke, great explanation on the ye olde shoppe and thanks from a denbigh lad who left in 1975, when speaking Welsh was very much frowned upon ! ..we was not taught a word of welsh at school and I never remember hearing anybody speaking it !

Yes there was a time when the Westminster government tried to eradicate it. Happily, that's no longer the case and these days it's promoted.

Yes , so good they named it twice ... have you heard the folk tale of Sir John Salusbury who killed a huge dragon that terrorized the locals , he paraded the monsters head thru the town , people started up a chant of "Dim Bych , Dim Bych" which means , no more dragon , no more dragon , some say that is how Dinbych got its name

It must be true - I've been there and there's definitely no Dragon ;)

Wasn't there something about 3 witches or something too? It's been so long I can't remember the stories of Dinbych.

It is a real shame that history taught in schools completely ignores the Welsh connection. If you start your history 2000 years ago you begin with Romans and their influence on Britain. But think about the British in Britain at the time and all parts of Britain would have been linked by language which today we call Welsh...It is the heritage of all of Britain and should be cherished as such.

They don't teach that the Welsh king Maddock(?) came to the U.S way before Columbus or Leif Erikson.
