He should have been ST. We already have more than enough Art farmer for Calvary class with many of them have a banner or are obtainable through welfare just before him a year or less.

I'd love to see more emphasis on his 1-on-1 abilities, although it feels to me like "bathing everything in Angra mud" is a more fitting NP. It would have been nice if they could have emphasized that "blow someone up" he's capable of at the same time, though. Maybe give him something wild like a reshuffle that guarantees 5 Kirei face cards, letting him brave chain single targets semi-regularly.
ST np would've been perfect for him Heck even something like Super Orion's NP would've worked great I just don't see why I'd use him for farming as it's clearly not his forte
I feel like the average FGO player is not the type that wants to take the risk (similar to Hijikata/Anne and Bonny/Necromancy) of doing retries to clear content so he's mostly just a flavorful mediocre farmer for most people and there is nothing wrong with that. For NA players, we get to see what comes in LB7 to see whether it makes sense to roll for such a servant.
I made a huge mistake here, I apologize, the attack up on skill one only applies to himself, this further reduces his viability as a multi core farmer imo. I do still stand by the opinion that he is a great tank dps and skill one being an very good utility skill. I've been liking my new "Council of Evil" team of KoyaD, Rasputin and Douman. Very versatile, very deadly. And very lovable characters with DoT memes to boot!
So..... He's a good -Buddy- Support for Moriarty....BOTH VERSIONS. Gotcha. Also Plushie, he's also a good -Buddy- Support for Baobhan Sith if you want a support/taunter for her.
Kirei is really really hard to kill within 3 turns with his 3rd Skill on Max Level where its mostly useful during difficult fight and challenge Quests. Though the skill is not useful during 3 turn farming except if you manage to put Chen Gong in the team.
Always good to remember for folks that need to Mediocre in this game does ultimately mean good rather than bad. Kirei may not be meta defining, or super broken, but he gets the job done and unless you're majorly concerned with massive numbers, 3 turning and all that, that's all you really need to worry about. Not all characters are gonna define the meta, that's just not possible, it's absolutely fine for Kirei to exist specifically as flavourful fanservice, he's functional
I love Kirei, but bless his heart Lasagna did him poorly in comparison to her fellow Foreign God Alter Egos. Perhaps he'd be more salvageable if his Guts were more like Hercs and he was ST, but as it stands he's just.....okay-ish. Which is a death sentence when you already have fierce competition in the card type, let alone as a Arts Alter Ego sharing space with Kiara and the Welfare.
As my favourite character in the entire franchise he's exactly what I wanted him to be. His NP would have been better as a ST but this allow me to use him in farming and what is better than using your favourite character? Regarding his third skill the RNG is totally legit, it's what makes the success really fun when happens. Also his bond CE seems pretty useful in solos (+30NP and 20 stars everytime you trigger a guts) to make him crit and have more consistent refunds and damages. Or you can challenge the RNG and really go all in with BG. In general a really flexible servant, I will grail him to 120 when I get the grails and try the craziest challenges possible. 7 years of fgo taught me that even 90% star command card can NOT proc critical so I'm kinda meh on Rasputin. No doubt he's unique, interesting and meme worthy. lol =) to me his biggest selling point is that the seiyuu Jōji Nakata is so into the character since early days of the franchise that I just had to roll for Rasputin. Purely for respect
He has a lot of potential with some crazy setups and a very amusing kit, from a purely meta perspective though it would be hard to rate him cuz he could be anything from B to A++ depending on how he's used
Although he isn't game breaking like probably most hoped for (although let's be real here, we have MORE than enough broken servants), he has enough gimmicks and utilities that I feel brings a breath of fresh air to the game for boss fights and challenge quests from what I've seen. Very curious of running him with honey lake He feels like a EoR era servant that wasn't crippled by the attempted balancing.
True his 3rd skill makes him so unique from his competitors but god i wish they made his NP ST instead of AOE because he's way more practical as a soloer than as an AOE servant so the 450% multiplier is holding him back so much it's basically like using Medea with her AOE NP multiplier despite being ST

True I think his ability to protect his teammates is insane and his first skill is very versatile at a short CD. However all that is assuming his skill 3 always succeed. This is my gripe with him, a very tactical cq servant if not for the rng factor on his S3
I think that Rasputin gives his best when he is not the center of the team. Building a team around him can make him very good, but it's both hard and rng, while if you have just as a "sidekick" he can be still powerful but not frustrating. And obviously if he was st it would have been better by a lot
I'm a little bit disappointed at him. Like you said, he can be invincible or he can die after one turn. It would be cooler if his Guts Chance gets lower with every time it triggers, so at the beginning it starts with 100% and goes down.

Out of curiosity, would you consider his Bond CE to be enough of a boost to matter, or does it still fail to bridge the gap between him and other Arts units?
It somewhat helps with his face card damage as it can overflow him with stars as well as help with refunding. However his most valuable NP turns are the 2-3 turns after the guts expire and he has farmed a bunch of np damage up buffs. Also you are sacrificing strong CEs on him by equipping this instead so i dont think it will be too impactful. Certainly a cool ce though
Does his Guts proc first before other Guts effect? Using other Guts effect as a fail safe could be a good idea since they also proc his NP effect. Although, if his own Guts fails the 80%, you still lose the buff. Him being not too good for farming is okay. Buster Servants are better for nodes that aren't 3-3-3, and for 3-3-3 nodes, Summer Musashi and Summer Ibuki more than have those covered.

However, all his permanent Guts have to be used up first before the RNG Guts can activate since it activates on his death trigger, meaning you can't use other Guts source as a failsafe. Welp, that sucks.
Alter Ego is also the best class in the game, tied with Berserker depending on the situation and how big of a whale you are. The class is extremely important, it's what holds back Servants like Acrueid cuz Moon Cancer just don't have many class advantages.
I would argue alter ego is one of the worst classes because half the classes resist it. It can be useful for f2p who have trouble getting a wide range of good servants, but I generally find Douman to be the only truly flexible AE. Melt and Bazett are both pretty serviceable as well, but aside from Bazett minturns I don't see why you would use them over another ST servant with true class advantage or a zerk.
Alter Ego is one of the worst classes though... Half of the standart classes resist it, it doesn't have any unique passives, and it doesn't have a good offensive modifier. The best class is Ruler, followed by Zerker, and then arguably Avenger (less HP, less starweight, has unique passives, colossal atk and 1.1 modifier to compensate) or Lancer (1.05 damage modifier with standart star weight and hp values), followed by rider (standart modifier, no unique passives, but has massive star weight to compensate)
I mean the immortal Rasputin is not so different from the real Rasputin that survived poison and a gun shot (the real Rasputin story is still a mystery so take my statement on Rasputin w a grain of salt) Actually if u check the lyrics of the song, it does state he survived poison and was shot till he finally died. Kinda fits his guts part
