Been waiting for a proper Cyclone VR-052F. MoShow is incredible. I have a few of their 1/72 Robot Chogokins and they are excellent. Sentinel tried this out a few years back and it was a disaster. MoShow also is in collaboration with Blitzway RoboGetter and cannot wait. High praise for MoShow starting out unofficial going official and now with their skills in collaboration with heavy hitters. Networking is a hell of a thing.
As a proper Mospeada fan, and sportbike rider. I endorse this product. ( ahem...Kawasaki.. I ve been realizing the past few years, your bikes are starting to trend to the Cyclone.)
Absolute must have for Robotech fans and toy collectors. I just pre-ordered the re-released Genesis Climber (Sentinel) version. That one will be in rider and motorcycle mode. I pre-ordered this Moshow Toys version on BBTS last week and it will be in this mech mode...but wow, just wow. This is the best version of the cyclone I've ever seen. At $180, it's a great deal.
YES! I pre-ordered it too last night and I agree, at $180 it's a STEAL. Compare the price to a Riobot version, heck yes that's a steal! (I have those versions too and those are awesome.)
That looks AMAZING! Who would have thought in 2024 ROBOTECH The Generation / MOSPEADA fans would be eating so good. I hope it continues. Just sad to see, once again, ROBOTECH Masters / Choujikuu Kidan Southern Cross, still not getting any love. I am still waiting to see a proper modern Hover Tank toy as well as all the other great mecha and enemy mecha from that series.
I hope sales go great with this one, and if licensing is open, that would be excellent to see Hover Tanks! Omg, that would be awesome, especially if sized like the 1980s.
Southern Cross had mecha design problems from the very start of its production in 1982. The people who made the series hated the hover tank design. That design was after all given to a character designer rather than a mechanical designer like Macross’ brilliant Shoji Kawamori. The hover tank is a big boring lump with extremely low fan appreciation. SO basically no market. The battle armor was better received and model kits are here in Japan.
at 1/10 scale... they should of put in some LEDs for effects. and less plastic and more metal. wish someone would make the tank and helicopter from Southern Dimensional Calvary... aka southern cross.
Actually, I just seen some reviews from some Chinese toy reviewer and yes, this does have LEDs for the lights. It seems like they turn on by pointing the gun to them, kinda like a sensor. You do a couple taps and either the left or right turn signal blinks! Also, it seems that it has metal in it as well. Plus I like the fact that the base for this bad boy seems to have magnets. That or the stand has magnets and under Scott's feet. I also noticed that the chest piece goes on with magnets which I think is pretty ingenious. Seems like they are using a MagSafe type magnet that sticks very firmly. Anyhow, yeah I was there at the San Diego Comic Con and saw it in person and let me tell you, it's quite impressive. My 7 yr old self was jumping up and down lol. I just put a pre-order in for this thing at BBTS and I can't wait to have it in hand! Oh and I'm with you, I wish some company would tackle the hover tank since I thought it was the star of the show for the Southern Cross series. I can only wish.
All set for pre-order if you're if you're in the USA, but I think BBTS can ship internationally: www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/290464?o=4
The wheels are too big for the armor mode. Looks awkward from the side and totally break the whole balance. Really wish Moshow could redesign that part a little bit before the final release.
Why can't someone take a true radical take on the design.... like getting rid of the giant backpack. I have almost every iteration of this figure. They could incorporate some of that into the legs or something. It just feels like their wearing their motorcycle s on their backs...
I never picked up the 1/12 scale ones. Maybe one of these days, I'll pick one to check it out. Do you like it because it's more simplified but at the same time more detailed that the 80s version?
I like them because they are redesigned by Aramki, the creator of the series and the original mech designer. They are true to form. This one had a lot more kimble.
Well, not all kids in the United States were privileged to see Macross when it first released. Thanks to Carl Macek, all those three shows were introduced to the States. Unfortunately we're still waiting for new solid and continuing content, and it's been 39 years.
Oh I don't know. Robtech will always have a special place in my 6 yr old 80s heart. So shout to Rick Hunter, Max Sterling, Lisa Hayes, Lynn Min May, Dana Sterling, Bowie Grant, Angelo Dante, Scott Benard and the rest of the crew. ❤ Note: I was actually there too this past weekend and I must say, it really is impressive in person. They also had an Alpha Veritech Fighter prototype and I was having heart palpitations! 🥵😍🥹
I'm sorry for you, but Robotech is way more popular than Macross around the world, to the point that most people outside Japan don't even know that Macross exists; whereas Robotech is loved and remembered dearly by an entire generation. Maybe this is not obvious to people in the USA because Robotech never reached too much popularity in that country, but in other regions of the world such as Latin America or China, Robotech is in the hearts and memories of everyone who watched cartoons during the 80s and 90s.

A lot of history here, a business transaction which is good and not so good. Carl Macek brought three franchises to the United States but suffered staleness in the hands of Harmony Gold.

It could easily be mistaken for a custom one off.

Only Macross and Mospeada!
