    I have the chirping bird upon acceleration.
    Sounds like heat shield rattle.
    Mechanic told me to push tire side to side and top to bottom.
    Wiggled the left front tire side to side, hearing a clunk,
    center of car and higher than tie rods.
    Celica so I can't get under.

    Have a 2017 Silverado with 6.2L. It has an annoying chirp only at start up and goes away immediately. Bro it's annoying. As you said it could be a few things. Dam it only has 41,000 kms and has lots of warranty left. There's a bunch of forum's about the 2014 and up chirp.

    • @Coverman66
      @Coverman66  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it could be a few things. alternator, belt or misaligned pulleys. i would get that gatorback belt and see if it goes away.. those belts are AWESOME!

    • @anthonymacneil2279
      @anthonymacneil2279 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Update, installed Gatorback thought it was gone but there's a slight still squeak or chirp only on intial start up. Before I put new belt on I fired it up and still had that instant squeak. So there's only two belts left the AC and vacum pump. Process of elimination. It still has warranty until April 2022, so it will be taken it to service to replace whatever is needed. Also I ordered another Gatorback from Ebay since they stopped making them.

    What happens if you just replaced the belt and the tensioner isn’t that old…maybe 2 years old with not a lot of miles on it? Could they still go bad that fast? Like my car is making that same noise but it’s coming from the drivers side and I just replaced the belt and tensioner 2 years ago. Should I maybe check the pulley to make sure it’s quiet spinning it?

    Hi Coverman66, new subbie here. Thanks the fun & informative info. My chirp is more sporadic & occassional. Not as consistent & ongoing - only "jerks & chirps" every 30 -45 seconds or so. That chirping is loud & irritating lol...
    At least now I know how to troubleshoot😉

    My Toyota Avalon 2008 makes chirping or bird like sound. I changed all pulleys but noise is still there, the noise is from the alternator area, I am thinking is the alternator pulley, but the pulley itself don't have a bearing, the bearing is inside the alternator. I am thinking of just changing the pulley, but what if it is the bearing inside the alternator.
