Great questions. I spend way too much time thinking about this stuff. It’s really the currents created by the tides that lead to dependable feeding and ambush spots for the bass. And I wish the second part was easier to answer. It’s pretty situational. Inlets like this tend to fish well on an outgoing since all the bait in the bay gets funneled into a narrow pass but there are spots near here that are only fishable when you wade out near low…you just gotta spend time out there to figure it out.
This is a Toadfish 7’6” MH 3 piece with a Penn Spinnfisher 3500….pretty solid light tackle setup but if youre fishing in the surf/canal or targeting bigger fish you’ll need something heavier
