    As far as engine size/hp complaints go, it is more than enough power as a city/highway vehicle. You guys don't realize how many late 90s civics, rav4s, etc. are driving next to you on the road with their sub-140hp engines. Not every car needs to be a 800+ hp Demon

    • @scaf_007vs3

      while I agree, I don't see how they couldn't offer something more comparable to the buick regals of past. Mine had a 2.0 turbo 4 with 250 horsepower that delivered great fuel economy along with more than sufficient usable power. 138 Horsepower is lean anyway you spin it. Something that is trying to be as nice/luxurious as this, 150 should be a minimum IMHO. Still, I'm thinking about taking one for a test drive because I am curious about it's handling and other driving dynamics.

    I just purchased an Avenir trim level... First modern new vehicle in a while and I have to say... this truly is an impressive little car, and not just for the money. Thanks for the review of the ST trim level. I will say the ST seems to allow much more engine sound to come through vs. the Avenir. In the Avenir example I have, you truly can't hear the engine. I currently daily a POS 06 Focus that makes 132hp NEW. I have 0 issues merging onto the highway at or above the speed limit, typically 65+. I test drove an Envista today and it feels noticeably faster than my focus, as well as reaches a comfortable merging speed much sooner and with less effort than the focus. My only concern with the engine is the wet belt system being used instead of a timing chain, it doesn't seem difficult to change yourself, but a mechanic is going to charge good money for something that shouldn't exist now a days.

    GM Korea Buick Division building some sharp cars. The 1.3L version with its reliability history I'm reading on multible formats pertaining engines in Engine enthusiasts, Trailblazer forums, etc. would have given me more confidence. Most reviews by folks with the GM 3cyl engs appear happy (of course some negative comments also) if 3cyl maintained right. Definitely read up on these little 3 bangers before jumping in. They should be warmed up in colder climates before driven for example. Im comparing sub/compact crossovers to replace a 2015 Camry. For same money Mazda or Toyota still in my sights. I'll test drive this and Encore GX. Wait a year to see if recalls or problems appear or just consider the new 24 month $199/mo lease w/ down payment. If reliable looks favorable maybe buy/finance the balance. Thanks for good review on the driving experience which matters to me as much as looks and dependability.

      @@ImGriffinP I can't see how it could feel like anything other than a slow econobox. Maybe the torque feels fine for people who never go over 4000rpm, but if you ask for more it can't give it because it doesn't have it! I am not a fan of downsize turbo engines, I think this vehicle would be better off with a nice reliable NA 1.6-1.8L IMO.

    • @TassieLorenzo
      @TassieLorenzo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "a 4 cly sounds nothing like a V8" Yeah it does. This is a Lotus Esprit V8: th-cam.com/video/RWDnMCl1fYo/w-d-xo.html This is a Ferrari 360 V8: th-cam.com/video/t3ZhcDMJD6w/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lxznLiH7xy0_MA56&t=32 It's just that in North America, the crossplane V8 is more common rather than the flatplane V8 which has the same layout as an inline-four. Crossplane inline-fours like the Yamaha R1 are possible, but are relatively rare. This is a Yamaha R1 inline-four which sounds more similar to a crossplane V8 or to a V4: th-cam.com/video/YDCb3ofQMOE/w-d-xo.html

    • @stevefrench4595
      @stevefrench4595 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree. I don't hear the similarity. There are no 4 cyl that sounds like a Coyote V8, hemi V8, LS V8, Magnum V8, Ford Modular V8, iForce V8 etc etc etc

    • @TassieLorenzo
      @TassieLorenzo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevefrench4595 "There are no 4 cyl that sounds like..." I just showed you the crossplane crankshaft inline-four Yamaha R1 that sounds like a Coyote (but obviously revving twice as high, at low revs it sounds similar) etc: th-cam.com/video/25pgWTyaxVE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9v6Njt_HCgH6fbJ6&t=16
      V4 engines also sound like crossplane V8s. Here's the Honda VRF800: th-cam.com/users/shortsqMii_HRUOsY
      Basically "most" V8s are built like two V4s joined together and *not* like two inline-four joined together. However if you have a V8 that is built like two inline-fours joined together, than a inline-four *does* sound similar to it.
      On the other side, if you are really not convinced here is the Hayabusa flatplane crankshaft *V8* made out of two inline-four engines: th-cam.com/video/C94VIwLbfKk/w-d-xo.html Hear how this V8 sounds like two inline-fours joined together, because it *IS* two inline-fours joined together?
      How can the four cylinder Hayabusa not sound like the V8 Hayabusa, it is *literally* half of the V8 Hayabusa! I don't follow.
      Here's an inline-four BMW S1000RR version of a Fiat 600, which sounds VERY similar to the above V8 Hayabusa Fiat 500 in my opinion: th-cam.com/video/3vyL3yatHPg/w-d-xo.html
      Most inline-four engines have flatplane crankshafts and therefore sound like flatplane crankshaft V8s like Ferraris, Lotuses, Ford Cosworth DFV F1 engine, Hayabusa etc like I said. *Inline-fours absolutely sound like half a v8, as they are half a V8.*
      It's just the *other* layout of a V8 (like your examples) is more common like I said, while the matching inline-four to that layout like the Yamaha R1 is conversely, rarer like I said, but the Yamaha R1 still has that some tone as a Coyote.

    • @TassieLorenzo
      @TassieLorenzo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@stevefrench4595 If you go with, quote unquote, a " proper " V8 like this Honda V8 Indycar: th-cam.com/video/wDLTsz_p41g/w-d-xo.html it absolutely sounds like a (very high revving) four cylinder engine, surely? 🙂
      Therefore inline-fours DO sound like V8s like that Indycar, it's just that most V8s are the other kind of V8 (crossplane crankshaft), no?

    • @TassieLorenzo
      @TassieLorenzo 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      "a 4 cly sounds nothing like a V8" I'm not done yet, I have another example! 😜
      V8 DTM car: th-cam.com/video/zTTHuKp1hMw/w-d-xo.html
      Four cylinder DTM car: th-cam.com/video/LGKDechw0Aw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=roZcnlRMhDkDj_F9&t=72
      They sure sound *very* similar to me... The exact same type of race car, one year they ran V8s, the next year they ran four cylinders and they sound very similar just as you would expect -- I rest my case. 😉
      Indeed, if you scroll through the comments of videos on V8 DTM car vs Four Cylinder DTM car sound, most people can't really tell the difference, except that the V8 is louder because it was't turbocharged (and obviously doesn't make anti-lag noises).
