What are you talking about? Reining is really no different than dressage. Its going at a certain gait, in a certain pattern. Its like a beautiful dance, and most horses enjoy it.

Some you city-slicker know it alls need to shut up. Reining is an awesome sport that shows the true beauty and horsemanship of these Western type horses. All those horses enjoy what they're doing if they didn't they wouldn't be the best of the best.
And if you think Reining is abusive you might want to check out Horse Racing where a lot of horses are ran until they break down. Each industry has the idiots who do it for the money, but you know what it's the same in every Industry.

A life of hell for reining horses, done all for ego.A rich mans way to abuse an animal.A living animal turned into a robot.

Oh I still stand by my statement. It is ALL about ego and how anyone can be impressed by the training of these horses is beyond me.The horses come out of thier stalls for more repetitive training,so they can perform the same moves over and over and over again.Natural?I don't think so.The only relief those horses get is after death. But I can't save the world and certainly not those horses.I can only be satisfied that my own horse lives a very pleasant life. Not tortured physically and mentally.

Not to mention they are trained far too young. I helped out 24 years ago at Randy's yard (and later John Slack and Todd Bergen) and it was a real wake up to a naive young girl from the UK. Randy was pretty great with the horses, but my other experiences were traumatising and are part in what got me into natural horsemanship afterward. I don't have horses in my life at all these days. I do miss them, they're amazing. Still, this reining is no more repetitive than dressage, except dressage horses are usually started once the horse is mature at least.

What the hell? Most horses enjoy doing what they do, and they're born to do it well. This must be coming from someone who doesn't know much about reining or other diciplines at all.
