How EXTREMELY FORTUNATE we are for this kind of content....!!! Loved the current format where Angus features himself for explaining things like corner cutting, post run energy drink etc. P.S. Ethiopia is beautiful country.
Learned more about Athlete Training in these 4 short episodes than anywhere else in the last 20 years. Hanna was also very enlightening. STANDS APART. Thx , Ato Angus.
We will never see a runner like Kenenisa Bekele. I just wish we saw his potential. As insane as his PRs are, I'm sure he could have gone much faster. Great video as always sweat elite!
All he has to do is use Kipchoge as a pacer, next time they compete in the same event. Then, if at some point he feels good enough to break-off, he'll be free to try.
You meeting Bekele and having some good shots of without even knowing he was there proves one easy rule in business: coincidences only support those who are competent ;) :D
Many thanks for this inspirational helpful video. Could you work out a video talking about these Ethyopian athlete running shoes? It's said that their training shoes are different from race ones.
Love to see how they prove hard work will always top Basically everything! Bro is literally drinking water and sugar after making 35k at 3:20km pace look so easy! Simplicity and efficiency!
Seriously. I would barely hang on for a mile, then drop dead... but I'm improving fast 😎 Hopefully in a year or two, I'll be able to survive that kind of long run 🤞
As Always, awesome stuff.. The drinks bus reminded me of kids grabbing ice creams in the summer. I've always wondered where and how they get all the gear? I'm not sure what they get paid for whatever jobs they do, shoes and clothes are expensive here in Australia ( good apparel anyway ) . Thanks for another killer episode.
That bus scene was incredible to watch, almost laughably so. The coach screaming instructions from the window and all the hands reaching out. Going on for a full 10 mins each time 😂😄 Most of the guys here are full time runners and don't work other jobs, or at the most have a side hustle, but probably nothing serious. Ethiopia has a decent support structure for athletes it seems, far better than the Kenyans. Most of these guys probably run competitively for a local club and will be paid a small salary for that. Gear wise, this group is supported by Nike, and most big groups wi have a sponsor (I also spent time with the Adidas group) but most runners have access to (new) second hand gear which they find in the running community (similar to Kenya)
@@sweatelite Awesome to know. Thanks so much. Sorry for the late reply, I suppose in a way, there wouldn't be any better way to hand out drinks unless they had a small loop where they could take a drink on alternative laps perhaps. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me, but you'd have to be on top of the game every day.
The guys will do a longer (25km + ) at least once a week, but the location and focus will change week to week. They will do a similar run, in this location around once every 2 to 3 weeks
He would have known that the group was training there that day. He started alone and finished alone. Probably hoping to bump into them and run with them for a bit but don't think it was planned before
There seems to be a few benefits They seem to have a fair number of calories, plus a lot of fibre, so I think quite long release and keeps you feeling full for longer. Then mixing it with sugar means you get some sugar straight to your muscles after the workout. It can also beixed with milk for a 'stronger' mix
What is the success story behind of Ethiopia's top world athletics secret? Success secret of Ethiopian runners 1) The place where runners practice is very important. Ethiopian runners are very lucky blessed, because they are in higher altitude location than most countries in the world. 2) This is the most important; Runners position must not very comfortable but difficult to practice. When we see runners from other countries It is not a very difficult place they practice, in fact they have made it very comfortable to run. For anyone to get good results in exams or test one should practice in a very difficult place in uncomfortable conditions like desert and in the wilderness area to prepare to get good results in exams. 3) Another secret of Ethiopian runners' success is that they run together or as a team. When we see many countries, they run not for the love of the country, but for the love of money and to become famous in the world. Only Ethiopian runners become famous without running for money. Because they run for patriotism or sport, not to compete for money. This is their big winning secret. They are not greedy athletes and they are not money-minded runners like the rest of the world. Because it is to respect and uphold the emblem of freedom of their country. because of The victorious spirit of their fathers is in their blood, bones and minds.
They are promoting unrealistic and unachievable body standards. This is dangerous for our children. I'd rather see marathoners weighing a more realistic weight of say 220 lbs, and running reasonable times of 9 to 10 minutes a mile. This is disgusting.
The lesser spotted great Kenenisa! This series has been fascinating, thanks so much for it. I ended up getting Mike Crawley's book too.
That is the great book ever.
Sir i would also like to train with this guys they are really incredible please reply me🙏🙏🥺
Bekele is a gladiator man. That’s so cool.
Nice comments and compliments

To think, Kenenisa Bekele is going on 40 years old now...
His 2004 world records are timeless !
09 2019 he ran a 2:01..
Age is just a number
@@itzarb7514 Yes I believe the same thing. However as you grow older you get many injuries and it's harder to get back to your peak fitness.
Seeing your videos is always a pleasure, if always with a smile, congratulations and we love running🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️🏃🏻♂️

Nobody run barefoot like Abebe Bikila :( He train 100mpw barefoot on the Ethiopian plains.
How often does the squad do this type of workout? What was the air temp?(a couple guys wearing long sleeves...) Nice job on the filming👍🏼

These are instagram runners. They only run a few meters for some shots. It’s the Clydesdales who are the real hard workers.
