I think historians need to consider one important aspect of Far East Asia when they study histories in this region. Unlike Mediterranean countries or Iberian countries, sea travel technique in the region was very primitive and also very risky and dangerous even until the 16th or 17th century. No ocean traveling technique was available and only tides, tail winds or rowings were used. Even traveling to Okinawa or Taiwan from other areas was not easy until pretty late times. To see how difficult was the sea travel, refer to Japanese Buddhist monk Ennin’s Diary(en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ennin%27s_Diary:_The_Record_of_a_Pilgrimage_to_China_in_Search_of_the_Law ).

Did you even listen to the whole lecture? He goes into how the Chinese came and introduced rice culture and then later Koreans came to start building tombs and kick starting Japanese culture. Let me guess you only watched 5 minutes, you didn’t hear when he talked about the dna of the tomb’s bodies would most likely come from Korea.
