This is a nice one since the mods now can make it feel like an actual county and not just a bunch of cities packed side by side. 😊
Build 42 has been in development for like 2 years now,
I remember playing with my mate before he got his new job and they were talking about build 42 back then.
And now he’s the general manager of his job! and the build 42 is still not out yet 🤯
I heard about the long awaited animations update some 5+ years before it ever dropped in 2021. The wait for vehicles felt just as long! The game is more than it ever was before and if this little wait is too much for completely revamping huge parts of the game I don’t know what to tell you
@@dannyl434perhaps they should stop completely revamping the game for every patch and it might be a finished project before 2077 rolls around. If they were really smart they would drop build 42, call it 1.0 and the next patch they release in 4 years time they could call project zomboid 2 and make lots of money because we would all buy it

@@erjanread9473 Would you consider it diming us for every update if the game was 1.0 and complete? at that point its just DLC and im willing to bet as fans of the game we would be all in on DLC, it works for rimworld right...
I dont think i fully agree that they are working on the game just because its a passion project, they have to earn money in order to continue development on the game, no business model works without income and i suspect thats part of why the development is slow, cant hire a massive team with not enough money to do it right so they are working with what they have and that means small team, slower development. If they run out of money i would think they stop working on the game because its expensive to do - so no... its not just a passion project.
Im glad they seem committed to working on the game for many more years, we all want that... but with that in mind and 1.0 supposedly being so far away the risk that money dries up becomes larger by the day because the game isnt selling like hot cakes anymore, but its clearly done well enough for them to be financially stable for now.

Then we're gonna get tennessee, the potential is realized and modders collaborate to build the entire map of the fuckin United States of America

@@ADcommenterYo, a modded challenge run where you travel all the way from Knox County to like fucking Boston sounds rad and also like only 5% of the community could actually attempt because their hardware is good enough to run that shit without imploding.

Another thing is now modders can remake an entire map with this new system
So there's definitely gonna be people remaking other cities or even create maps from other games into zomboid

B42 lives in my mind as more of a myth than something that is actually coming at this point.
hope it autogenerates roads and maybe to an extent maybe small villages
I hope so too but, I think it’ll make patches where real life towns and cities will be because it’ll be more work and in the story the bridge from Louisville to Indiana was broken down by the government to stop the spread but it was said NPCs from outside Knox Country like from places like Nashville will come to the the area to keep the NPC population alive so other towns across the river like Muckport, Indiana may be made in an intermediate update, and I hope towns outside of Kentucky can be visit because apparently a lot of people in the US is trying to get into Kentucky early in the story

Nah roads would be cool but any kind of structure or town needs real attention to detail in order for it to look legit

I've never played project zomboid but to see how the developers want their players to have full control over their unique play styles and use the game to its full potential is a way bigger step than most game developers.
It'd be really cool if going like 600 miles would make you reach the ocean

Id love to see a built up city some day. Kind of like a high risk high reward area for your end game characters
i think it would make a problem for online servers but a mod may help to add a border like the borders in minecraft

why people are crying about the release date of the update ? if didnt even announce it you couldnt even cry about it because the game is good enough already
and the are adding a free update to bring new players and the progress they are making is actually fast REMEMBER its indie stone , not bethesda

PZ is great, but it definitely needs some improvement, specially in performance and progression.
Srry bro but main reason why game’s so successful to begin with is because of the modders so it’s kinda unfair to glaze game developers when it’s really the community itself that carries the game.

I think b42 should have official map somewhere where modders can take spots on the map to create cities and claim it so that it doesnt conflict
And once all those official spots are full, then we can’t allow any more people to create map mods due to possible conflicts?
If all of those official spots are filled, how does this allow new modders to show us and allow us to play with their mods? Additionally, if all spots are taken, and well known modders hadn’t got the chance to input their map mods, so you suggest kicking people out that were already in or telling them they are SOL?

No, you would take the same spot someone took before you or the same grid, same size, same place like Grid D7, and you would LINK that your map and map/city that someone made before you ocupy the same spot and you need to chose between the 2 otherwise it would conflict and crash.
You you could start game and say i want B2 RavenHolm, Then your friend goes yeah, but B2 has Ravencreek thats better map. Ok we go B2 ravencreek and you have perfect grid with all the maps.
A1 has 5 cities 2 cabins chose one. B1 has 2 cities and military base CHOSE ONE MOD.
So there would be no difference to how it works today. It would just put some sense and order to the madness that map mods are.
Finally, more biomes, the game desperately needs that. I get its Kentucky but that same old scenery gets old.

If I were to guess I would say sometime during the first half of 2025. And that is wishful thinking, it will probably be even longer 😂
We've been told to expect it this year. That's all we know currently and all we're likely to know until a couple of weeks before it releases. Usually how TIS does their updates.

No hate for them, but I guess it is quite a fault that they milk the b42 hype dry while knowing for sure it ain’t ever gonna happen, so they mislead new players into thinking there will be “build 42”
@@lesnoyelf228 I mean I thought build 41 wasn't coming and it did. We've seen all the stuff for build 42 it is coming. The only reason the slow development is a problem is because the game has gotten popular. And it's not entirely unwarranted if the game has sold lots of copies they should give updates more. Due to an increase in revenue for development
