Excellent! The plans look great, and that trick about clamping to a right angle to cut the keys is a time saver. I would've spent an hour or so trying to rig up some kind of sled type jig or something. I'll be using cherry for the case and oak or maple for the inserts. You forgot to mention the blade angle should be 60 degrees for the sides and 30 degrees for the inserts. One Christmas gift idea down.
funny I want to make a hexagon wedding arbor that's about 84" across to serve as a backdrop for the wedding couple . I'm having trouble getting those 30 degree miter cuts on a 2x2 to line up. I'm using a chop saw to make the cuts then glue and pocket screw the pieces. Small pieces are easier to hold together but with pieces that are around 48" gluing a bit tougher. Lastly what's a parallel vs non parallel miter cut? I'm assuming it's angle on piece is the same direction on both ends of the piece. thanks

grate video love the project But when o went to print the PDF it came out unreadable and dose not fit 8.5 x11 paper can this be fixed?
