It's actually not a rangefinder camera but a viewfinder camera. Voigtländer also had a quite ingeniuos system using snap shot settings for focusing since the 1930ies.

Could there be a translation error? I only have german manuals and when I translate them, my translation apps translate it to "rangefinder camera", but maybe that is an error. I looked in some other dictionaries and found the translation "viewfinder camera" now as well. Seems to me like the German word "Sucherkamera" gets used for both cameras that have an actual rangefinder in them and ones that don't, so maybe that is causing some confusion. Guess I'll remove it from the title to be save.

@@scaredcrowYT Hi and thanks for replying. The terms commonly used now are: viewfinder camera for Sucherkamera and rangefinder camera for Messsucherkamera. Translation apps can be misleading. Take care and Grüße aus Ö!

No rangefinder at all. It has a viewfinder like almost every camera back then. And that's why you can get one of these for almost nothing. Real rangefinders are something different. Rangefinder camera = "Messsucherkamera" - viewfinder camera = "Sucherkamera".
