- Made in Japan with a 9-11-75 stamp inside. So, likely imported into the US on Nov 9, 1975. I purchased this around 2017 and was my first Alvarez purchased that sparked my interest. #vintageguitar #alvarezguitars #madeinjapan #alvarez #acousticguitar
I play this wonderful model a lot of years, what a great guitar ❤
This was one of the first guitars to show me that old woods can great tones.
Cool. I had the same model given to me around 1976. It has some bowing at the bridge, and finger boards are dished out, but still sounds good,
except I have to use lighter strings now. The serial number is 444. I can't find anything yet to determine the year it was made. I see nothing on the label. I have a new Alverez electric/ acoustic coming tomorrow! Almost black Madagascar ebony back and sides.😊
Sometimes you see dates in the labels, sometimes you don’t. I find them 90% of the time but sometimes they are very faded.
@@briansuniqueguitars Thanks, I'll get out a flashlight and my readers!

I have the same exact guitar Alvarez 5022 6/6/75 Made in Japan - what gauge have you found works best for it ? Sounds very similar to yours.
update - I just put a JLD bridge doctor in to correct a little belly lift and put some Elixir Nano Custom Light (11-52) - plays wonderful and the action is now 4.5/64ths (1.8mm) at the 12th fret high E and low E. what a great playing guitar. Very true neck - no fret buzz
What constitutes a "little bridge lift? Guitar shop said it would not be worth it to repair?
I have one with cherry sides never seen one before
I’m selling this one right now on reverb.
