I forget what level it was but there's one moon where you have to traverse an area by becoming the frog and jumping over the poisonous sea, you have to time everything perfectly. Took me quite a long time to get the hang of it. Picture one was easy for me! It's also super fun to make the scariest Mario possible.

It’s in Lake Kingdom, and I looked up this video to see if it was on here. Currently stuck on the second moon in that area you get with the key. I tried about 25 times and gave up. No amount of camera angling can make it easy.
I did both moons in that area without the frog
The fact that you ranked the Breakdown Road and Jaxi Ruins moons so close together grinds my gears immensely

Actually not very hard. I did it too in like two or three attempts.
I used the mario amiibo to cheese some sections. I'd say the hardest is jump rope genius.
I used the peach amiibo to do that
that's the one moon i just couldn't find the will to actually do. I just used the block letter mario thing for that. And i guess i also did 2 player for the 100 score volleyball thing if that counts
They still have a letter glitch though
Volley Ball was WAAAAYYYY harder. I started playing Odyssey again and I got 100 on first try when I realized I didn’t have that moon. Volleyball took me 90 minutes o get get 100

The trick to doing the picture one without tracing is to use the funky-colored border for reference: for instance, maybe his left eye starts at the yellow block horizontally and the green block vertically. With hat in mind, I did it in 2 or 3 tries.
I feel like nobody ever talks about the secret 2D treasure one, but that moon took me forever

The hardest part is dashing when the 2D section goes up
I've just done a 100% run and can give a few tips
15: don't get impatient, only use cappy when you have too
14: he explains it best
13: building momentum can be done by rolling and long jumping, keeping it can be done by triple jumping, which can matter if you need height
12: I found the ice one more difficult, but like in that one crouching can make you walk more specifically
11: once you know where the ground is there isn't a problem, destroying piranhas gives you a bit of space and the first moon heals you
10: using cappy alone, if he bumps into mario he gets stuck
9: just go through it a few times for the fruit
8: breaking the jaxi, otherwise I'd say you've just got to be lucky
7: you can jump alot later than you think, like just after you've fallen off the edge

5: memory? I didn't have a problem personally, his nose is most important to start
4: once you get to 50 you just have to press A at the frame you land, after a bit of good luck you'll get it
3: You heal inside the odessy and can go back inside in between bosses, get a 6 heart up powerup first
2: save health, get a heart up powerup beforehand
1: jump from the stairs to fight the first miniboss, wall jump up the poles, triple jump up the platforms, jumping on the biggest one, and ending the triple jump on the second biggest one, there's alot of hidden hearts if you explore, the most difficult part is when you're on a moving platform with one of those ring bells that shoots out a ring, you just have to stay in the corners and shoot sideways, if you hit one try jump onto the platforms the enemies are spawning on, bowser can shoot fireballs and has 6 health, sometimes it's easier to just let the boulders hit you instead of turning around

I got 100% and for jump roping, once I got to 50. I would jump twice and then throw cappy once

A roll gibes you max speed but a longjump sets the speed parameter to a specific speed that is slower than rolling so by longjumping after a roll you lose speed. Try rollcancel if you wanna get rolling speed jumps.
@@aroobism I imagine a line between both ears, and another one from the chin to the top of the hat, and using this I can position most of the features, if it's really that difficult however tracing paper isn't a bad solution
In the moon walking moon i did it pressing ZR so I could walk slower, I get 100 points.

Yeah i was able to get every moon except this one, possibly due to switching from handheld constantly to a 60" tv causing latency for such small frame jumps? Anyway i did the scooter letter glitch to get it.

They didn't. There's a glitch involving capturing one of the mario letters in a way that you get the letter out of bounds, take it over to the jump rope, uncapture, then just stay on top of the letter.
The letter glitch let's you get the letters out of bounds and then you can just stand on them at the jump rope challenge.

My least favorite moon by far is the volleyball one, it's so annoying and time consuming. Most of the other hard moons are at least enjoyable to do
My daughter and I did it yesterday, it was a pain! But with cappy as second player it's true that it's much easier
For me I just had Mario stand in the middle and threw cappy at the ball in single player. Keep in mind you have to be pretty good at aiming with cappy

There is a little glitch with glydon in a journey's end. If you shake the controller with him you keep the same altitude. So if you shake the controller as soon as you enter a twister you will fly. And you can skip the rest of the section all the way to the bowser part. But be careful because it will automatically kick you out of flydon when you reach the painting.
I’m soo freaking glad that when you activate the monoliths you don’t need to do Jump Rope and Beach Volleyball once again because my God those made me rage soo hard but still you’re forced to repeat the Bouncy Races on the Snow Kingdom and not just only once but TWICE.
For the picture match, imagine a grid where the colored squares would intersect on Mario’s face and you’ll see that some of the features line up exactly with the grid lines
9:48 Wave of Poison: hop to it is a really difficult Power Moon, i died a lot trying to get this cursed Power Moon.
The moon walking one took me actual hours to do, I felt like I was doing it perfect every time then I would always get like 88 or something. Then I breezed through the actual hard ones in a few tries
It took me like 10 minutes
The hardest part for me when it came to getting the Three moons from a journey's end was the flying lizard part since I find his controls are very finicky but when I got it here I was able to get all of his other moons
6:07 for me that's the hardest moon in the game
This was driving me nuts... I kept getting 74 or 76... But i kept messing up putting his eye brows on yhe wrong eyes lol.. once i did that it was an 88
For the Eastern Pillar one, you don't need two bullet bills. Just jump to that first pillar using cappy as a bullet bill is chasing you.
Using 2 Bullet Bills for that moon is over-complicating it. You can just have one follow you in normal Mario form, and grab it when it gets near. Very easy.
For the racing one, doing it properly IS super hard, but you CAN cheese it if you want to by crossing the field at a certain point. The slowdown isn't enough to negate the time gained.
All the others you mentioned are difficult, and I would have most of those on my list of the hardest, if I had such a list.
The eastern pillar one took me hours but your method helped me
Good list, there are a few minor things I'd like to point out though. The Jaxi Ruins one isn't that bad if you press the B button then press it again right away. The Jaxi doesn't move fast if you keep doing that. It does require timing, but once you get it, it's not that bad. I probably wouldn't put Darker Side at number 1 though. I don't find it that bad except for that one really dumb part with the fog and the moving platform. But eh that's just me. Number 2 and every other Moon from Dark Side yeah I agree with all of those. Good list though.
Cant you just hold the b button where he completely slows down?
@@Unowdvalcon82752 Yes but after a few seconds even if you hold the b button down he'll start to move fast again, so I just tap it.
For the mech in dark side, you can actually parkour up onto it and skip capturing anything

I think you can probably do that in the bowsers kingdom too. Nor sure but maybe. I'll have to try that next time in the dark side. So far just beat it the way the makers intended.
Like just casually jumping on one of the broodals in the mech
Breakdown road is the hardest because I’m bad at the game and you can’t properly cheat at it.
You can use amiibo for darker side and broodal battle
You can also use cappy for volleyball, glitches for jump rope and assist mode in rolling invisible road moon.
If you don’t cheat then darker side is probably harder

I agree with all your Power Moons except for the Jaxi Ruins one. It wasn’t easy but I didn’t find it too hard. Also, with the Jump-rope challenge, as of when I am sending this message, I am currently doing the Jump-rope letter glitch and I’m aiming for 99,999 jumps, which takes a STUPID amount of time. I have been waiting for about an hour and I’m only on 16573. 😢
The mech is actually incredibly easy to beat. Once you’re on top, just do a cap jump to get straight back, whenever it throws you off.
Moons 1 and 2 I had to ask my uncle to get them for me because I tried doing this and it’s infuriating!
there's a really good strategy for the first sheep moon where you ground pound in specific places to skip the entirety of the course the sheep has to go through, makes it way easier, just look up an all moons or 100% speedrun of the game.
just a suggestion for the people not managing to get moon #14 for a bullet bill to chase you just take a little circle from the right to the left then when you got the second one be sure not to be in handheld mode just accelerate as much as possible while shaking your joycon. Took me a few tries but you can get the hang of it pretty easily

5:10 Uhhhhhhhhh that's not how you do SFX, you're supposed to play the sound effect each time a comment appears, not every time the sound effect ends lol
I got a near perfect score on walking on the moon by going clockwise instead of counterclockwise, giving you the visual cue of the little hill once the arrows disappear
#11 is made jus a tad easier on ur health if u get tha secret moon (greyed out if u already got it) because it will restore any health u may hav lost prior to gettin to the piranhas...big jump on top of them to insure u dnt take unnecessary damage

Doing the Broodal gauntlet was very tough and took several tries, but once I got to the RoboBrood I was able to do it one try. This was due to the Hammer Bros. being much easier to control then the Pokios.

15. Underrated, the way the sheep sometimes just randomly walks into the void is extremely frustrating, making it not only one of the hardest, but also one of the most annoying moons in the game. The P switch moon is much easier imo
14. I get this one almost every time I attempt it but since that is the case with a lot of other moons, I think it's suitable
13. This is the one that should be #15 for me
12. Personally, I think this isn't that hard, the one in snow kingdom was harder

10. Should be higher, although the hard thing is having to start over again when you mess up, making you waste even more time because of how slow the ball is at first

4. If you use the motor scooter, this one is much easier because the hardest part is actually starting the challenge by aligning the motor scooter properly, then it's basically almost free. Also, the world record has most likely been achieved by a glitch. I don't think anyone has the patience to get 99999 points without any glitches
3. Very overrated. Topper is the hardest part, the rest is pretty easy. And the robot is actually a joke because it's a lot easier to get on it and cheese the fight than in Bowser's. Might be top 15, maybe top 10 but definitely not top 3

My personal hardest moon is surprisingly the sheep one tied with the mushroom kingdom 2d section thing, but that opinion might be very unpopular, even though I'm very bad at sheep moons

Breakdown road the key star I got on my 20th try. But granted, I was doing long jumps across the blocks on the right side as fast as I could, then coming back I did long jumps where ever there was platform space I could jump. Not sure if I did it the way it was intended to do but had fun with the platforming.
I understand how your support to get the bottom moon, I've made two attempts by jumping on top and then going back down. But didn't get my camera angle fixed. I know now, I need to fix my camera angle first before triggering the giant bullet. After bearing Bowser the first time now I'm just focused on trying to find every moon in each kingdom. Right now in the sand world. ( Note I just bought the game about two weeks ago. )
I completed a long journeys end and then my brother borrowed my game chip to put in his switch light which he then left in Aruba so I stole his Mario kart eight deluxe because I had it in my switch. So not only do I have to buy the game again but I have to start all over again thanks to my younger brother.

A helpful trick for the mario picture thing is that you actually use the eye on the right for his left eye, and vice versa. This makes it a lot more lenient.
fun fact: i 100% mario odyssey with all costumes 5 times, but if i could delete 1 moon, it whould be the volleyball one, since the others like the jump rope or the ice burn circuit, or even the darker side are exploitable, even breakdown road(just jump dive for the moon), but the volleyball one has no exploit( i know about the 2 player exploit, but it never makes it easier for me), so i have to grind for that

I thought you had to bound uphill to gain speed, okay. there's so many up Hill parts so I kept on getting last place every single time, those two were my third and second to last moons to 100%

The jumprope challenge was a breeze while riding the motorcycle lol. It felt like the jump timing was perfectly made for it.

This list is out of order, and about 1/4 of these I got 1st try.
I’m current on the Darkiside level and haven’t seen 90% of what it is this video!!! From your list I’ve got the jumprope moon, and ive defeated the bosses in bowsers kingdom but those are the only ones I have seen from this video.
For the broodal battle, before you go to the mech go far right and you’ll see toad with a secret power moon. If you’re low on health the power moon refills it.
I'm sick of the Broodals in general. So overdone.

Something I havent heard anyone talk abt is that to do the arrival at rabbit ridge moon you can accually finish a boss fight go outside and return to oddyssey to restore all ur hearts
For jumprope moon there is a glitch you can do which means you can just sit there and just do nothing as the counter goes up
#14...u dnt hav to use 2 bullet bills...jus go to the piller on tha left (right if ur back is towards tha bullet cannon) and it will curve out to u and u can jump to tha next pillar and capture it and then start shakin ur joy con...pro controller...or switch lite to boost it to the rock 🤘
This game is a lot easier than Mario galaxy 2 when it comes to the final level, probably easier than 3D world's too. I completed all games 100% (except for the fact I need to get all costumes). But a couple of these were really difficult.
Imagine "On Eastern Pillar" without motion controls on emulator, absolute hell. The manoeuvre you have to do to get the bullet bill closer to the pillar before it blows up is absurd, definitely the most technical series of inputs I had to do.
The hardest one that I bothered to try was the Jaxi taking notes one in the desert. It's so difficult not only to line the Jaxi up to get the first note that triggers the others, but to actually keep it going in a straight line, I pretty much have to spam right and left on my analog stick. The worst part of all is when I missed the very first note, and then got all the others
This took me a few tries. Breaking with jaxi is critical. Before getting the music note I will break with jaxi, line up the camera with the music notes and get jaxi lined up trying not to touch the anolog stick at all but sometimes needs a short tap on left and right to realign jaxi. The game developers seem to be a bit generous with the hitbox as you might not be exactly in line with the notes but you can still capture it. Just important not to make any big movements with the anolog stick. Today was the first time I played that section, also beat it today. But also took me a few tries to get it.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought the Mario Picture Match was REALLY difficult!!! I tried like 20 times, and no matter how close mine looked like the original, I never got above 80 points. It was just too strict lol

6:47 you can do a glitch so the M,A,R,I, or O letter hyper-speed out of their zone and after tat you can make any of those letter stand where you have to jump and just stand on that letter

it's so funny how the main story part of this game is super easy...a nice casual playthrough
but then after you beat it, it's like the REAL game opens up and there are suddenly all these challenging parts to it. I like that this game presents both sides of the coin
There are really only 10 truly difficult Power Moons in this game. I'd put them in this order:
10. Tussle in Tostarena: Rematch
The Knucklotec Rematch in Mushroom Kingdom was the only boss fight that I needed to go in with 6 HP. It's all because of the large amount of mummies that spawn while trying to dodge Knucklotec's attacks. That's it.
9. Secret 2D Treasure
The upside down portion at the end switches the left stick's direction, and it can mess up a jump causing you to start over.
8. Breakdown Road: Final Challenge
This was difficult at first but gets easy when you realize you have to long jump at the last second every time. The timing isn't as difficult as it seems.
7. Long Journey's End
The length is the challenging part but you can get two 6 HP hearts in this. Once from defeating the UFO hat mini-boss in the beginning and another from the Sphynx before the halfway point. That's what makes it easier.
6. Vanishing Road: Rush
The timing, rolls, and type of jumps you use to get past the second timer are insane. After that, it's simple.
5. Vanishing Road Challenge
Same as #6 except during the third timer, you have to dodge tanks while jumping up falling platforms. Once the timer ends after you've made it to the building, you have to start all over to try again.
4. Invisible Road: Rush!
Poison is spread all over an invisible walkway and you don't have Cappy. If you can get through the invisible road portion, you then have to fight 3 giant Piranha Plants that cover the invisible arena with poison. They always seem to lift their heads up right as I'm at their normal face level and I take contact damage. If it's not that, it's poison damage or accidentally falling off the sides trying to defeat left and right plants.
3. Iceburn Circuit Class S
The computers cheat. That's it. Most people try to cheese this race with shortcuts because it's damn near impossible.
2. Beach Volleyball: Hero of the Beach!
Hitting the ball 100 times would be easy even if it sped up. The issue is they don't say "GRAVITY INCREASED" at any point. Towards the end, it's like a bowling ball is being thrown and hits the ground immediately.
1. Jump-Rope Genius
This is pure luck as well as staying calm. Once you get past 90 jumps, the anxiety hits you hard and panic mode sets in causing you to fail and uninstall the game.
Golden Turnip 3 in Luncheon Kingdom should be on this list.
You have to capture a Hammer Bro (or rather Pan Bro), do some precise jumps over lava, dodge getting hit by Fire Bros, do more jumps over lava, break the cheese around the turnip, uncapture the Pan Bro, get the turnip, then you have to do more jumps over lava (you can't long jump while holding something), and if you fall in the lava or get hit by a Pan Bro or a Fire Bro, the turnip gets destroyed and you have to start all over again, then you have to do those same precise jumps over lava again, then climb up to a higher area, then do another precise jump to get to where the soup that the turnip goes into.
For Breakdown Road Final Challenge, it's possible to dive jump back up after spawning the lower banzai bill, which makes it much easier
I did that too although I lost all my coins so I’m not sure if it’s easier lol
The speed flower in the sand world took me about twenty tires to get both moons. That was a bit tough.
Number 6 second power moon is the only moon I’ve yet to obtain and I bought the game at launch
But I used the infamous glitch to get number 4, couldn’t do it the normal way.
I finished the rabbit ridge first try but the low gravity is wayyy harder than you might think. I am currently stuck on the one in the woodland kingdom with the fire bro.
It's funny how some parts of this game are difficult to different people. I got some of these moons without much trouble but the volleyball one especially still eludes me
breakdown road final challenge tip. make sure to reposition your jumps every time you jump, trust me the banzi bill doesn't go that fast, you have enough time to reposition your jumps
The moon where you collect notes with Jaxi outside in the desert was the one moon that nearly made me throw my switch out of the window
I think running and dashing up above definitely deserves a spot on the list

for the "long jumping" section I just triple jumped
fun fact about the jump rope high scores: there USED to be a glitch that froze Mario in place during a ground pound, and that's how 99% of those leaderboard scores got there. After they patched it, the devs at Nintendo couldn't really prove who used the glitch and who didn't, so they kinda just... left them there lol
There is a way to cheese the first part of #15. First you go to the corner left of the sheep and groundpound. You then groundpound on a specific location which will launch the sheep onto the platform with the pen.
Sorry in advance for the terrible instructions.
My tip for the jump rope challenge is to use the scooter. Jumping with the scooter seems to be much easier. When I accidentally figured this out I got 81 jumps my first try. Some people may find this way easier some may not. Starting with the scooter is the only difficult part. Good luck!
Vanishing road when the 1st power the up one when you use assist mode and not touching the building you will chese it when you fall of the cliff
here's my top 15:
15. Toadette: Third souvenir moon. You have to collect 40 souvenirs.
14. Arrival At Rabbit Ridge. I hate it.
13. The sheep one in the clouds. The sheep never wants to cooperate. It's low because once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad.
12 I know this will be controversial, but iceburn circuit class s. Maybe I'm just pretty good at the bound bowl, but I got both moons on my 3rd try.
11. Long Journey's end. It's not THAT bad. There's TONS of hearts. Life up hearts. The only part I can remember being TOO bad was the cloud section.
10. The one in the sand kingdom where you run on the side of the wall. It's not that hard to get to the key, but I've missed the key over and over.
9. Secret 2d treasure. Just why.
8. Vanishing Road Rush. You just keep rolling and jumping. What makes it hard is that I jump right after a roll and do a long jump and bump.
7. Invisible Road. The poison guides you, yes, but it can really be annoying. The only thing that lets me finish it is to refill my health with the secret moon.

The jump rope one wasn’t so bad once you got the motorcycle involved ;-) Also, I switched to assist mode for the Darker Side moons, I’m not even ashamed about it lmao

I actually did the long jumps perfectly on my first try with the bullet one. The only problem was that the big bullet didn't see, and so the wall didn't break.

With that Mario face match, I legit screenshotted the face while it was there, and then would screenshot when I thought the facial feature was in the right spot, compared the two, then corrected it, rinse and repeat until done.
I used the peach amiibo for number 3, it makes it so much easier
The jaxi music note thing is hard I don’t think going to the end is hard. Assist mode: pause menu, options, choose mode, assist mode it’s really helpful.
Breakdown road final challenge was the hardest for me. I wanted to throw my controller through the screen playing that.
I personally think the hardest moon in the is the volleyball minigame since you can't really cheese it, except for 2 player which isn't even cheesing it. A Long Journey's End has plenty of skips one of which gets you straight to the end from the 2/5 mark. You can also use the Mario and Peach amiibo(s?) to make it even easier, amiibo(s?) don't do anything to help in volleyball.
I'd say the volleyball one is mostly annoying. I haven't done the 100 times yet. I got to 50 something felt annoyed and now just working in other moons first. Don't really like that monotonous type challenges.
With moons like the number 1 moon use assist mode itll make your life so much easier this wont help the face match moons and walking moons but for those I recommend just taking a picture
For the volleyball I struggled for so long the I switched to 2 player mode and did it first try (133 at that).
