      Although I love and respect my own father, and although he was far from perfect, and tried his best, I would probably never want to be like him, through, looking at other men throughout the years, I have a great idea as to what kind of father I would like to be. What many folks should understand, whether you’re black, white, Latino, etc. Is that you come from your parents, but you are not your parents, their responsibility is to raise you and get you ready for the world you will face. It’s not going to mean that they’ll be there all the time, it’s not even going to mean that they have all the answers, you live life in order to find those answers, When you have your own kids to raise, it is your direct responsibility to have as many answers as you can in order for your own kids, to go out there and be productive citizens, and do all of it without any type of regrets towards those who raised them, or didn’t raise them.

      Duly noted!...Less we forget though, those of us who've experienced/ endured that level of trauma could absolutely care less about the "societal charade" of being liked and or accepted. Sometimes there's value in interior "scar tissue" i.e, , being a more patient, empathetic, conscious and- most importantly- apologetic parent as we, ourselves, continue to grow. Which, I believe is much more in line with the theory of "go in the complete opposite direction" of what was demonstrated to us by our fathers.

    My father passed in 2021. I remember people at the funeral speaking about how reliable he was. I was literally mind blown as one of the 5 children he did absolutely NOTHING for. And when l stood up to speak, my mother was terrified lol. But l started off by saying “when a person leaves this earth. All that really matters is the good memories you have” And l went on to speak on the few good times we had. I could’ve slandered him for hours. But to me that’s spitting on that person’s grave

    To Lala’s point that Stephen A doesn’t care about what ppl think of him. . . when you have a parent who doesn’t care about/love/support you, like his father, it prepares you to not get caught up on what others have to say about you. His book is really good.

      I was just commenting how learning about his upbringing, I better understand the things about his personality I don't like, along with the things I do. It's not just about, not caring about what people think about him, which goes into having a sense of empathy for others, and or what they think. But he can't give or extend to other people what he didn't have, doesn't know how to give, or was never extended to him.

      I guess in his outdated subconscious mind he knows Rihanna is winning and he just said when winning they always come for you.Therefore, he is coming for her with his unattractive self. He is old enough to be Rihanna’s father. Rihanna is a phenomenal young woman. She comes from a humble beginning and she earned everything she has and she is a billionaire and I guest this why Stephen doesn’t care for her. This idiot all he had to say when she ask him what he thought about the Super Bowl is that he is looking forward to the half time show. He is hope the best for Rihanna doing the half time show. Sherrie didn’t ask him for who the best or to compare Rihanna with Beyoncé. When Katy Perry did the halftime show no one compared them. They just appreciate both ladies had an opportunity to to do magnificent show. He sit their with his unattractive self and will not admit he was wrong. Stephen fail to realize what he put out in the universe with that old mouth is waiting out their for him and that uncontrollable mouth. My mom says every dogs has it day and some has two or three. Also what goes up will come down. Blessings to Rihanna and Asap Rocky and their precious baby boy a gift from God.🙏🏽❤️

    Always dope to hear success stories about someone's personal life and how they accomplished their goals in life. Whether you like Stephen A or not he's a realist and will always speak his mind and there is no bigger troller of Cowboys fans than him 🤣.

    Great 👍🏿 interview 👏🏿 and I have his book in my store so when I finish what I'm reading, his is NEXT!!!! Not the biggest fan of S.A. however I respect his grind, how he's unfiltered, and I have mad respect of how he shouts out Rob Parker and Chris Brussard on the rival network. Nothing but the best 👌🏿 going forward for S.A. and for being unapologetically HIMSELF!!!!

    What he said about Beyonce' and Rhianna is what plenty of people has said about so many people example Michael Jackson and Prince. Prince is a great performer but we all know that Michael Jackson is the greatest performer of ALL TIME. People have a right to like who they like period.

      legit just made this point lol THANK YOU! Prince is arguably a better musician , and MJ a better performer. both greats with their strengths

    • @anotherpointofview222
      @anotherpointofview222 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't think the issue or conversation was a debate about whether people have a right to like who they like. Sherris question wasn't about making a comparison. That's where Stephen took it. It's about Reading the Room.
      Reading the room is not about being right or speaking your truth.
      It's more about is it the right time and place to be right, and about speaking your truth in love. In a way that unites more than it divides.
      He would have been right to say what he wanted and felt to say at his Father's funeral, and what he said would have been the truth. But some people felt ut wasn't the right time and place.

    • @r.m.90
      @r.m.90 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The point was that it was unnecessary. It wasn't a debate. All he could have said was he's looking forward to seeing Rihanna, and he hopes she does a great job. Instead, he used it as an opportunity to say she isn't as good as Beyonce. It's not hard to grasp. It was also catty for a male.

    • @anotherpointofview222
      @anotherpointofview222 ปีที่แล้ว

      @R. M. "Catty" Yes. Something about that word captures it exactly for me.
      Like he's Flexing some basic "Alpha" male attitude while puttin off some catty feminine energy. The "cat fight" he conversationaly created was uncalled for and totally unnecessary.
      I agree. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There is just a difference for me between being asked for your opinion on someone and being asked to make a comparison between two individuals.

    Ummm EVERYONE there was TINA TURNER and JANET JACKSON headlining the halftime shows BEFORE Beyonce. Everyone has a entertainer they look up too as a fan. But let's not pretend that Beyonce was the first to do it and then Rihanna, like they're the only two. They BOTH stand (and dance) on the shoulders of TT and JJ who came before them. That being said, I can't wait to see Rihanna I know already, she's going to kill it!
