      Don’t worry! They’ll ship your 2024 before Nov 30th! It just won’t have all its parts and have a handful of recalls. I’m certain it doesn’t say in the fine print “guaranteed ready to run.” Hell, they all shipped before Nov 30th this year, just half were missing parts and they sat outside at the dealer with recalls for two months. Same thing will happen this year.

Nothing major but still frustrating, I had to get towed out my second ride. There clearly are reliability issues with this platform and I feel like adding a new track and reversible scratchers is a slap in the face to consumers. I bit the bullet and purchased a 2023 pro rmk matryx 163” this last winter. It has been a love hate relationship having had to work on it every time I’ve ridden. It is no doubt super fun performance wise but I have 0 trust in it to take it anywhere having already been towed out on my second ride.
    Brett, do you suspect Polaris will release a product that is ready to go off the showroom floor without having to add more money in extras just to be tasteful to the rider. I know guys that are blowing up primary’s on their 9r’s,
    Fouling spark plugs every ride, bending and breaking the cheap low end pro-taper bars they come with (I understand any bars can bend) I’m personally dealing with a strange bogging issue I can’t figure out. I just have a hard time paying 25,000$ for something that doesn’t already come fully loaded. Why are consumers expected to go to the aftermarket to fix factory issues?

    It's cool that they're promising the ship date this year - hopefully we've seen the worst of the Covid era and we can put it behind us. Sure would've liked them to address the glooming P22 issue as well as the plugs breaking/fouling.

    • @CorbinLefebvre
      @CorbinLefebvre ปีที่แล้ว

      See I understand supply chain issues I do, but when recalls come and push an expected ship date from mid December I was told from Polaris till end of February I feel they should do something on their end to make up for that.

    • @208SledHead
      @208SledHead ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CorbinLefebvre The “recalls” have been grossly exaggerated by disingenuous people. If sleds were ACTUALLY blowing up then yea, I could understand. But they aren’t. Nobody I’ve ever talked to knows of, or has even heard of a sled blowing up. There was 1 picture that surfaced on Facebook but it provided zero context and zero proof that it was due to a faulty fuel tank. The brake recall was a reflash - BFD. Ski Doo had their own version of stop ride this year, but in typical cowardly BRP fashion, they chose to post a small, hard to find bulletin on their website. You never hear Doo queens talk about it because they were either never told, or they don’t want to admit it. But it’s there.
      Doo also released all their G5’s with the wrong chain installed in their chain cases and that’s why they’ve been grenading and leaving people’s seasons cut short. And those that haven’t grenaded are sitting on ticking time bombs with backordered parts from BRP.
      When exactly did you get your boost and what area are you in? NE? Mid west??

      @@208SledHead Geez Deez, you certainly do love to bash the Doo's.
      Yes, you have uncovered a major conspiracy theory from the cowards at the BRP camp and they tricked people into believing Polaris sleds might explode if you start them, lol!!! So well executed that even Polaris believed it and has spent a million fixing a problem that does not exist (insert sarcasm here).
      Keep pedaling your chain case story to the world and you Doo owners beware out there, you are sitting on time bombs (really??!!).

  • @phildolecki2598

    I understand Polaris has been moving at an amazing pace trying to set the bar for the mountain sled segment. A new (to Polaris not Doo) scratcher design and a track option for 2024 is completely understandable, they have made great strides forward in the last few years. My problem here is that they seem to fall short managing their current technology and performance. It's not the customers role here to complete their R&D in the field, that's your/their job. Vibration and detonation issues I feel are contributing to these failures (clutches and plugs) and who knows what the ramifications there will be on long term use and an owners return on investment of these platforms.
    I understand they are high performance machines that require daily inspection/maintenance, but when my group is all out in the backcountry, we question our ability to return to the parking lot if one of the 9R's will make it out without incident (sad but true). Sure there's warranty, but the hassle of towing it off the mountain, time wasted on your trip and the feeling that you might have made a mistake with this purchase is a reality.
    Can they slow their pace a bit and return some reliability to their platform? $30k Canadian is a lot to ask for something that ends up causing us stress and start questioning ourselves if this sport is still worth it...

    • @phildolecki2598
      @phildolecki2598 ปีที่แล้ว

      Forgot to ask, does the "Will Ship Guarantee" mean that they will ship to the dealer but it may still require waiting on backordered parts and not deliverable to the new owner???
      Or does this mean your sled, complete, delivered by the date and only requiring PDI at the dealership?
      Thanks again!

    • @208SledHead
      @208SledHead ปีที่แล้ว

      At least you can change a clutch or plugs on the hill.
      Ski Doo shipping their G5's with the wrong chains installed is what's causing the exploding chain cases - and you're not replacing that on the mountain. Parts are back ordered and it's sent guys home early who were looking forward to riding in places like Revelstoke. Instead they go home early with a 25k machine that's useless and an EPIC snow season wasted. That Ski Doo feeling!

    • @phildolecki2598
      @phildolecki2598 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@208SledHead Eezy Deezy, agreed, it's not just Polaris with issues but certainly not at the same numbers/rates/volume Polaris is currently facing. I agree that the Doo requires frequent chain tension adjustment in the first 500km but this video is about the Polaris platform and asking their ambassador about his perspective.
      I'm not trying t compare brands here, I'm looking for some clarity and a reason other than "it's covid" and "not our fault". That holds little to no water for me, it's their business, been long enough to source other suppliers, figure that out (Doo included).
      If we are paying almost $30k (CAN) for these platforms and can't get a single season out of them without a trip to the dealer there is a problem. And if you think calling out Doo or whatever other manufacture can resolve this just because you ride a Poo is a waste of my key strokes. ... Doo only has 10 known failure points as Polaris and Cat have 20, so it's a much better machine ... ugh! It's not fair to consumers to make this large of a financial commitment and be left fixing the problems we have purchased and I'd like to know what Polaris has to say for themselves and if they try your approach, I will be sure to share that with my group.

    Just got confirmation yesterday of my 165 Khaos 9r with the Series 8 2.75 to sit beside the '21 Khaos 163 in my stable. LOVED the green and black, but opted for the Black w/ Lime highlights. I wish I could justify the 325, but the reality the conditions for that track are not nearby, and the 275 is a better "all mountain" option....esp with the speed limit of the 325.
    Only thing I'm "kinda" disappointed about is the display. While the functionality of the 7s is awesome, I would have loved to have seen it upsized like the Doo....but then, I don't look at it much unless there's a problem with the sled anyway...haha

    So Polaris is going to try building sleds for another winter?. Just kidding
    It is pretty amazing what we are doing with snowmobiles nowadays. For the depth of the snow and the steepness of the grade that you are maneuvering through. 25 years ago everyone was building big bores and monster engines that still today are truly phenomenal horsepower makers to just simply shoot a straight line up a mountain we're today you would go up that same straight line with a factory sled and then play around in the trees
    For us Flatlanders you would ride your old Indy or XC if you did 100 miles in a day you had enough. Now it almost 50 years old we have a little snack break at 2:30 in the afternoon 90 miles into the ride and think I could easily do another 70 miles!
