Just bought this not long ago and I am 💯 stoked I did. Completely worth it for travel and/or wanting to practice quietly. This little thing is amazing.
I'm rather impressed by that little beast - and even happier that you played Blue Bossa - the only jazz number I'm confident about playing! (Although I'll have to watch that section again ; you did some interesting things with it!) OMG - you're playing a load of the jazz numbers I'm trying to learn properly - I hadn't expected a masterclass!
Tomo-San, first time watching your channel after buying the Donner Hush. It made me really happy to hear how you made this guitar come to life with the jazz and bossa songs you played and now I’m excited to learn from your videos! Subscribed!
Hey Mr Fujita! I can’t wait to start taking your Guitar Wisdom courses soon. I just had an amazing teacher in Mandel Lacy and can’t wait to learn more with you Mr. Fujita!
Thanks a lot for this sharing. I really like the way you play on this guitar. The blues at 08:08, the Girl from Ipanema towards the end. = Lovely summer music. I already put it in my instruction video list 😊
Donner puts out some quality stuff. I've also found another carry-on by Blackstar that sounds sweet. But Donner has really impressed me with their work. I bought one of their Telecasters, wanting something cheap. I got way more than i paid for.

Thank you for the review, Fujita Sama. I found out that this guitar is also cheaper than the Traveller guitar. I'll keep this guitar in mind if I ever travel again.
I was not all that impressed at the unboxing it looked like a canoe paddle with coat hangers however seeing and hearing it after being properly set up it sounds not bad and effectively am tempted especially with the fact I could use my wall amp...lol ...thank you Tomo appreciate it..
That little wall trick is something I've done for a long time. The wall almost acts as a kind of amplifier if you're playing electric and are not plugged in. 🙂
Robert Johnson supposedly made his recordings facing a corner of the room. The collector thought he was shy but many suspect he was inventing a primitive reverb.
Mate, love your playing. I’ve had one for about two years have travelled with it etc and think it’s amazing, particularly like it’s clear sound and that it sounds great though every amp I’ve played it through. My only criticism is, because it’s body lacks the mass of a conventional guitar and is supported by that tiny metal thing, when you’re playing at the top of the neck it can make it hard to form cords without muffing a few notes because of the leverage applied. Maybe it’s just me, other wise well worth the money, punches well above its weight.
It’s hilarious i was going to request you review this guitar as i am always looking for something to take when i travel and want a goof around guitar but cannot take a full size.
Great skills, I just discovered ur channel yesterday and I’m enjoying your content and lessons, I’ve been watching a lot of reviews about it but still not sure about it so I wanna know if there is anything u didn’t like about this guitar and would u recommend it, thank you
@@TomoFujitaMusic I did watch your video, in entirety. My question was directed more towards the feel, not the tone. Does the neck feel and play more like an acoustic or an electric? My electrics are considerably easier to fret. I now realize my 1st question was vague. My apologies.
@@nohillforahighstepper Thank you for watching my video. Surprisingly it's pretty loud as acoustically then it sounds good with amp. Hope this will help. Not too thick as acoustic. A little thiner. Similar to Gibson.. It's hard to tell. Not typical acoustic guitar neck. In between. That's why it's very comfortable to play.
Your playing is fantastic! Great review as well. Would you mind telling me whether this is the mahogany or the maple version? This color comes in both. Sounds like it might be maple, but wanted to confirm.
It seems that it's less than a third of the price of the most expensive Silent Guitars on the market (Yamaha SLG200S). Would you say that this one offers the best value for money? Especially I think no one really uses Silent Guitars for actual performance...
HI Tomo! What do you think about putting electric guitar strings on this? Would it feel/work OK based on the bridge and neck shape? Would really appreciate your input!
Hi! I've been checking out this guitar for quite a while and planning on getting one. I love it's really cool features: it's compact; it's silent and it comes with all the stuff you'll ever need to play it straight from the box. The only thing that I am a little bit concerned about is how it actually sounds. Most videos I've seen play it through an interface and even added some effects and audio enhancers. I just wanted to know if, in this video, you played it raw through a mic-up amp. Because it really sounds like. I just want to confirm. Thank you.
Seems like a cool little gimmicky guitar. However, after playing guitar for 40 years, and traveling around for gigs or just personal reasons... I have NEVER seen the point of or understood the need for a 'travel' guitar. Yeah, I get that they are smaller.. but not by that much. How much actual space are you saving? Is that fraction of space saved really worth it? My 'travel' guitar is whichever one of my regular guitars I decide to take with me.
Any piece of junk with some strings on it will sound amazing in your hands Tomo. And with the set-up you have in this demo vid, just a little Roland Jazz Chorus and an even tinier Boss Katana which (I 'd love to see how they fit in your suitcase ha!ha! ..) sorry, it's Friday, what can I say... that thing is too loud when played acoustic still! ain't silent at all. I think, personally I'll keep buying an axe where ever I travel to.
Thank you so much! It's pretty loud as acoustic! Once John Mayer emailed me where to buy a guitar in Tokyo! No need to bring your guitar when you are traveling. Just buy it in there!
I have this guitar. And while it's a great, well crafted and spec'd instrument, it is REALLY uncomfortable to play, at least for me, at least for now..
@@TomoFujitaMusic No, the action is actually really good. What I meant was it's uncomfortable because of the shape and the construction of the guitar. It's way too small, and due to the specific shape of the metal parts it does not sit on your leg firmly and the strumming hand has no place to rest. It is also basically impossible to play standing up - at least for me - with the widest strap I have it's neck dive is impossible to manage.
@@madeofnapalm Thanks for sharing. So the neck is straight. You can change the neck angle to change the action too. I see... For me, it was surprisingly comfortable. Please watch this video how I hold this guitar. You can choose any comfortable strap. I don;'t use any strap with this guitar. Thank you.
Try Tenayo travel guitar, it's also a silent and detachable. But has bigger and more comfortable braces (rubber around them). Sounds the same very good
Great playing. Looked a lot on web ref this. Main issues are with the high action. Truss rod adjustment (often arrives very loose) helps but some are removing height of saddle... But careful.. keep it flat. One guy couldn't get their strap to fit at the back.. too thick. The metal attachments need screws can ve easily lost.. Otherwise a lot to like...
Amazing guitar player!! 7:27-7:35 never too much?

Nope, not Blue bossa. The girl from Ipanema it was😊
I think it was Bill Withers, "Just the Two of Us" with a bossa feel.
