It's quite literally the mobile "GOT Conquest" game. Except, that game isn't buggy, things are spelled correctly, and there aren't (at least as far as know) fights of you controlling a character. Like the look is identical too, especially the part at the end with going to get resources and interacting with other players.
That beginning part where you choose a character and skill on the website and then it just ignores it and links you to the game is sooooooooooo dodgy. My scam alarms were totally going off.

@@Arkayjiya Oddly enough I remember reading that due to some of the latest trade war tariffs between America and China, Chinese viewers actually didn't get to see the GoT finale. It's possible that this had some downstream effects and the *hitty little Chinese company that made this wreck of the game and planned to just use it to get some microtransaction money from the Chinese market had to scramble due to the sudden tariffs and had to start marketing in America in order to have a hope of making any money on the license they inexplicably acquired for the game instead of just stealing it like every other Chinese company does. So it's possible that Donald Trump is actually indirectly responsible for this thing being exposed to American audiences because he's the one who instituted the tariffs in the first place. (Granted it also may mean that he's the reason why its probably going to crash and burn harder than one would normally expect. So I suppose that's a little bit of a pro/con situation.)

As someone who lived in China. I can tell you the reason why the "officially licenced" shows up so many times. China used to have LLLOOOOOTTs of unlicensed games being published(Such as Naruto and Bleach) and such action has pissed off the show's fans. Players also started to notice they were tricked to play these knockoff garbage so they quit and spread hate toward publisher of these games (*Reasonable*). As a result, in order to get people (from China) to play games based on any shows, game's publishers have to prove they are actually licenced to do so.

I don't think they licensed it. They can't. They sold a license to their GoT IP to the chinese developers that developed the game but that would be all. But they are unable to license the game unless they own it and then it would only mean they allow people to play the game because every player agrees to the terms of use and therefore to the content of the license.

Still, I feel like just making a game of a better quality is a much wiser option, including from a financial standpoint.

In the show, allying with Melisandre was kind of a "devil's bargain" that lent Stannis great power but ultimately led to ignominy and defeat. That Melisandre is the first character the game chooses to try to finagle you into purchasing suggests to me that either they are deeply unfamiliar with the show's lore, or that somewhere in a Shanghai mobile game company some wage-slave is pulling a "From hell's heart I stab at thee".
This one is actually worse than average. There are a few good ones, which usually don't have a limit on how many queues/timers you can have running. I remember there was one game (now no longer available) that was all about space and building starfighters. You could upgrade any and every portion of your starbase at once, and even conquer/build more starbases. The only limit was how many ships you can have in drydock at a time, and how many fleets you can have stationed at each base. Also, resources were per-base not global, with you having to actually use a fleet to haul resources from your fights and between your bases. Depending on how big your cargo hold was, you could have to take multiple trips. Even better, the AI enemies that gave you most of the resources kept their health, so if you saw a better fleet nearly win against a higher leveled enemy, you could come in and steal the kill. That was fun.
I haven’t seen the ad, either. There are only two things that TH-cam is willing to advertise to me: diapers and makeup. Maybe the occasional cleaning product. I think TH-cam does it because I’m female.

@@Arkayjiya Oddly enough I remember reading that due to some of the latest trade war tariffs between America and China, Chinese viewers actually didn't get to see the GoT finale.
It's possible that this had some downstream effects and the *hitty little Chinese company that made this wreck of the game and planned to just use it to get some microtransaction money from the Chinese market had to scramble due to the sudden tariffs and had to start marketing in America in order to have a hope of making any money on the license they inexplicably acquired for the game instead of just stealing it like every other Chinese company does.
So it's possible that Donald Trump is actually indirectly responsible for this thing being exposed to American audiences because he's the one who instituted the tariffs in the first place. (Granted it also may mean that he's the reason why its probably going to crash and burn harder than one would normally expect. So I suppose that's a little bit of a pro/con situation.)

But I am pretty sure this game is made by some Chinese company since as far as I know, not many people other than Chinese and Japanese, play a lot of browser game. As someone who lived in China. I can tell you the reason why the "officially licenced" shows up so many times. China used to have LLLOOOOOTTs of unlicensed games being published(Such as Naruto and Bleach) and such action has pissed off the show's fans. Players also started to notice they were tricked to play these knockoff garbage so they quit and spread hate toward publisher of these games (*Reasonable*). As a result, in order to get people (from China) to play games based on any shows, game's publishers have to prove they are actually licenced to do so.

I don't think they licensed it. They can't. They sold a license to their GoT IP to the chinese developers that developed the game but that would be all. But they are unable to license the game unless they own it and then it would only mean they allow people to play the game because every player agrees to the terms of use and therefore to the content of the license.
Until now, I was 100% certain this was a rip-off game. Jesus Christ, HBO goddamn approved this.

In the show, allying with Melisandre was kind of a "devil's bargain" that lent Stannis great power but ultimately led to ignominy and defeat. That Melisandre is the first character the game chooses to try to finagle you into purchasing suggests to me that either they are deeply unfamiliar with the show's lore, or that somewhere in a Shanghai mobile game company some wage-slave is pulling a "From hell's heart I stab at thee".

This one is actually worse than average. There are a few good ones, which usually don't have a limit on how many queues/timers you can have running. I remember there was one game (now no longer available) that was all about space and building starfighters. You could upgrade any and every portion of your starbase at once, and even conquer/build more starbases. The only limit was how many ships you can have in drydock at a time, and how many fleets you can have stationed at each base. Also, resources were per-base not global, with you having to actually use a fleet to haul resources from your fights and between your bases. Depending on how big your cargo hold was, you could have to take multiple trips.
Even better, the AI enemies that gave you most of the resources kept their health, so if you saw a better fleet nearly win against a higher leveled enemy, you could come in and steal the kill. That was fun.
