I've admittedly not seen many versions of this dance but the ones I've seen the men look smoother and are more enjoyable to watch. It doesn't seem to be a dance made for showing off women in the most enjoyable light.
@@mortimerbrewster3671 To do this well - and she does, very well, the woman has to have the muscles and training timing and skill - professional dancer status, in other words - which leaves her looking more 'masculine' than 'feminine'. I think that's what is happening here. Chanzie is a very good dancer and dancing with someone as pretty and smooth and strong a dancer as Stephen is only possible for another man or a woman with the muscles and skill to pull it off. She can. Pair her with a man who isn't solid muscle or another woman and you'd see a lot more of the 'feminine'. They're well matched for the dancing they do.
I've watched him dozens of times trying to figure what sets him apart. As far as I can tell, he just separates all body parts and jerks them in uncoordinated coordination??? I just don't know but his is distinct and the goal no one seems to match.

That was beyond impressive. A terrific homage to the insanely great performance on The Judy Garland Show back in 1964. These two know what they're freakin' doing.

He's really smooth and suave in his movements and she has an aggressive way of dancing showing alot of attitude. They're both great!
