Everyone in the comments is giving love to Bobby which is fair. But Gina Trikonis, his dance partner, is absolutely killing it and delivered a much tighter performance. Love this video.
Gets better every time I watch it. Especially Bobby Banas, the boy in the front who doesn’t care where he is- because he IS the dance. I’m following him now on Facebook. Still alive. Still dancin. He went into dance with Debbie Reynolds, Marilyn Monroe, Duck Van Dyke in Mary Poppin and endless other musicals. He kisses Marilyn in one movie. I’m so glad when I found all that out, because I could feel the difference in that lad. Feel it going through his body, like it doesn’t for everyone. He talks now about his life and how at age 3, he’d stand in doorway between two rooms and make it a spot lit stage, and how he couldn’t not dance when music was on. I knew it.
I just came back to watch with the idea of figuring out who the central male dancer was! I can't keep my eyes off of his dancing and presentation and was wondering what ever happened to him. In ALL other dance videos, my eyes go to the females...Bobby is THAT good. Thank you for identifying him.

@@cynthiamauck5918 thanks! 👍
Without doubt!
He was the choreographer of the dance....
@@cynthiamauck5918 Any idea of the name of the woman he's dancing with?
I heard that he was choreographing this and a male dancer didn’t show up so he got up and did the dance. He’s an amazing dancer. He’s 88 years old now. 🥰💜❤️
I was born after the 1960s but I love this song and dance routine. It’s infectious!
I was born 1953 and I just started remembering 'The Name Game', 'The goose drank wine...' and the 'Nitty Gritty' song.
Everyone in the comments is giving love to Bobby which is fair. But Gina Trikonis, his dance partner, is absolutely killing it and delivered a much tighter performance. Love this video.
I believe Gina is the siister of Gus Trikonis, who was Goldie Hawn's ex husband,

It's not easy to keep up with Bobby Banas. I suppose she tried her best.
Robert Banas the dance legend shows us how it is supposed to be done
Whats his fb page?

He was the choreographer and at the last minute the lead guy was a no show so Bobby just ran out and LIT IT UP.
Bobby dances with passion.
He was feeling it!! I always get happy watching this. Wish I could dance, but I have 2 left feet.
He is ONE HELL of a great dancer! Takes my breath away 57 years later.

My 1 year old great-grand son loves this video.
If you don’t like this it’s not them....it’s you....
You're right about that. And I'm proud to own it.
