Yes, but really high psi might tear through the foil like material, my compressor wasn't very high powered so I did try it on my dryer vent etc. Just be careful.
I don't use tape much, but the other day I put in a cheap adjustable arm and shower head that came with tape. I was too lazy, tired and dirty too god all.thee.way to the basement to get my TFE paste. Obviously, it's not dealing with too much preasure and it's in the shower so . . . Works fine. I see a lot of plumbing vids on line where people use both tape and TFE or other jizz. I've never seen an old school plumber use tape. Most of the teflon dope jizz lubes and seals etc.
Wonder if you would get better performance if you attached a small wiffle ball on end of it

Teflon tape is a lubricant not thread Sealant
