Thanks for sharing, can't Wait for The Bull to reopen, love their Fillet steaks. Used to work in Wheathampstead at the Midland Bank (long since gone) and was one of the two cashiers present when we got held up at gunpoint!! Used to fly RC model planes on Nomansland Common.

15:17 ahh she had me crying🤣🤣
You've finally worked out Wellies for winter walking at last 👍 don't know why more people won't use them? Sussed that back in 2003. When the gravel path ends and the swamp starts wellies are a must (quote by Gandhi) didn't just wear sandals you know😉😁.
If you can ever afford them, get yourself some Aigle hunting boots (wellies). Expensive but I've owned mine since 2003 and they are still going strong, fit well and never had a blister and very grippy (like shit to a blanket)😉
And a roll of cheap pound shop bin bags in the boot for putting the muddy wellies in till you get home.
    Another cracking walk👍

I lived the first 16 yrs of my life where the Cory Wright Way Bypass is now. Marford bridge over the river Lea at the bottom of Sheepcote Lane is near the entrance to a tarmac drive, once lined with tall lombardy poplar trees and huge old oaks, alongside which stood five individual caravans, with their own gardens, surrounded by trees, fields and the river. They are long gone. It's private land, the original entrance to the drive is now the owners car park, and where the caravans once stood is now screened from the bypass with trees and thick ivy.

I wouldn't want to do lots of miles in them unless I added some inersoles but I think they're fine for 6 miles or less.

Did you know Devils dike has many more names like "devils dyle" and "devils vale" and they sound evil because the romans gave it those names. The names before these were "Chason" which is what the romans called it before making it evil which is translated from the gaulish word Cha'son (spelling might be wrong) which means city of trees and there was the original name that the natives called it "Kathshonn"
