    I would rather watch a video like yours that show personal innovation adding to basic equipment. Too many people just throw money at things to show off. Doing things yourself makes it more useful personally.

    Big fan of this product just from watching this video! I need to see one in person, but great features! Seems so obvious to put mounting rails all around, not sure why some competitors do not include these.

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really like the side rails but I know some competitors make the sides hinge at the top and lift open. Advantages to both I think. Thanks for watching

    Probably the best video on the Harker EDC I’ve seen yet. Good Job.
    With your tail gate kit installed how do you find the dust intrusion with this style truck camper.
    Are they difficult to remove and install?

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine really seems sealed up quite well. I have no seen much dust intrusion. Removing the whole camper doesn't seam very practical. I plan to leave mine on all the time. I did see that Harker has just partnered with a company to make removal more easy using their system by Riptopper. Check them out with a google search.

      I bought a locking rotopax mount and just bolted it to the bar with 2 bolts. Like this one from Amazon. amzn.to/4coddLJ

    Great! I have a Gladiator and I am currently searching an overlanding solution. Could very well be this thing. However, would love to see you use the passthrough window between car and EDC....

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I love that widow mainly for the visibility out the back when combined with the rear hatch window. It’s a cool center slider window that also unlatches to allow you to fold it down and clean the other side and the outside of the truck back window. I’ve never actually used the window for passing anything through.

    this is the most in depth video i've seen on the harker edo so far. they should be paying you residuals on their sales! one question i have though is related to a third brake light on the unit. you seem like a very thorough person, so i thought you might know. i asked them about it and they made me feel like no one else has ever asked about it. i mean, the third brake light has been a federally mandated requirement since the late 80's or early 90's right? do you have any suggestions?

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Maybe add one to the tailgate of the truck? That would be easiest

    • @gregghubbard9361
      @gregghubbard9361 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that’s a good suggestion but that’s something i would need to do and unfortunately i’m not quite as handy as yourself… most of their competitors offer a solution even if it’s just the wiring from the truck bed. they should really consider adding an option for it. i mean the installation of the camper is preventing the factory installed and federally mandated brake light from being displayed 😢

    Can you put the hatch back and close the trunk before sleeping so safely won't be compromised?
    I feel like if a grizzly (bear or man) 😂 trying to dig it nose in, it might find the weak point

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No. The back is closed in by a tent to create a larger space on the EDC model. The EXO model I think is designed for use like that. The hatch stays on

  • @TheMonk7423
    @TheMonk7423 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Instead of the annexe , can they just make a shorter version, just to cover the tent part, like most clam shell tents come off the shelf.

    How is the seal overall on the camper and the rear door in particular? I've heard that this style of camper (one lacking a dedicated door) tends to take in a lot of dust from the door area?

    • @nordenamerica
      @nordenamerica 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Definitely takes a lot of effort to seal up well. Mine seems well sealed now after adding a tailgate gap seal and extra seal around the sides of the tailgate. To me it's very acceptable now.

    • @twotwentyswift
      @twotwentyswift 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why the hell would you pack another table when the camper has one built in? The essence of light weight camping is having more than one use for everything you carry and by using the rear hatch for a table you have the huge advantage of being able to walk in instead of crawling on your knees. This is bloody genius. 🤟

    In a world of $30k-$80k+ Overlanding basic bed campers and square drop trailers. A starting price of $9k+- plus options isn't bad at all.
    The options and extra mods you made came across as well thought out for the way you use it. Didn't know it doesn't come with benches or cabinets. 😮
    Would you say you're all in about $15k? + Blue YETI and refrigerator. 😊

    • @adventuremikesgarage
      @adventuremikesgarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@jeffbettenga Probably thousands! But it was a LOT of work and research to try and find things that would work. Unless fabricating is your specialty I would just about recommend buying as much of it completed the way you want it. I probably have 60 hours of build time in mine and more counting the research and ordering of windows, hatches, caulk etc.
