Dave really has not changed in 40 years (except for the beard) he is still as quirky as ever and that great sense of humor with that rye smile to let everyone know he’s up to no good!
Dave is soft selling his knowhow and accomplishments. 1st Trophy Truck for Rob and Venable Racing was 30 mph faster that the previous class 8 truck with same engine, trans, diff, and same rpm. All of this gain came from aero improvements and smaller frontal area, all designed by Dave and Nye. And the 4WD trophy truck that out accelerated the class. Then the massive shocks with 4 inch diameter shafts and shock housings with water jackets that was connected to thermostatically controlled valves to heat or cool each shock to a specific temperature. Dave is amazing. Pity the fool that goes up against his racer.
