    What a fantastic & very practical comparison! Great to see the difference between the three differing max assist with same power output by the rider. I sure am glad I chose the full powered Specialized Turbo Levo Comp over the Orbea H10 Rise. Good to know. Thanks!

    Great content as always! Eliminating the single most volatile data point in every bike test... 👍

    It makes a heck of a difference on rider weight. I go for full power, I'm 6'2" tall, and 235 pounds. Keep up the good work, look forward to your vids.

    This is so great to see come to market! Love me some EVO anything and while the other brand new "shift under load" systems are amazing, these TRP components will come in at much lower price points and not rely upon batteries. Hats off to the TRP crew for pulling this off.

    Excellent video. Does a good job for helping people decide. I recently went from a YT Decoy to a Trek Fuel EXe and the difference is very noticeable on full power. Basically what I found is the Trek does not have the option to fully bail out and climb with close to no effort. Almost like the YT if Boost was disabled. I still think the YT is slightly more powerful on Trail vs. the Trek on full blast (but close). I prefer the Trek because it gives me enough power to make it up steep pitches that I can't climb on a normal bike. Occasionally I miss the effortless power of the YT, but that's pretty rare. If I had a dedicated bike park style trail system near me (with no lifts) I'd still want to keep a full power bike around.

    This proves than despite many people complaining low power ebikes aren’t enough, still they are way closer to a full power than a normal bike, unless you’re a pro.

    Great review with solid methodology! Thanks for explaining the 3 general categories too, I've not seen that explained anywhere else so clearly.

    You're a machine! A measure of Wh of battery usage instead of percentage would be more useful in future tests.

    So far, my Spectral ON CF8 Canyon works, its flickable, but its 53 lbs, somehow it steers quick and likes to be thrown around.
    Its got that big battery but I have yet to notice it................when you need the range, or want the power, its got it.
    Does everything in trail mode pretty easily.
    I dont really want a low power/smaller battery bike. I already ride my amish bikes 160 miles a week on average.

    Glad you included non assist in the comparison. It would be nice to double my mph, at times, while climbing. I guess I'm in the market for a low powered e-mtb. Thank you for the info.

    I’ve been on the forums just to ask the majority of riders how they ride their e-bikes and a majority said boost and with that said only a full-size Ebike will last longer

    The newer crop of lighter full-powered e-bikes are here. I wonder where the new 2023 Orbea Wild (21kg) and 2023 Giant Trance X ADV E+ elite (18kg) stack in your list. Please compile a timed run for each bike you test a la Top Gear?

    This is how you compare ebiikes! Thank you so much for taking the time. Although...I am very curious about the SCOR, and about any Fazua you can get your hands on? The "E-MTB Review Test Standard" should be copied by all. A+

    Awesome video, like always!
    In my case I'm in-between a 2022 Orbea Rise H15 and a 2023 Orbea Wild H10. I was actually hoping to see how much a full power consumed on the climb compared to the Rise, but sadly that data was not shared. How much more "efficient" would the Wild's Bosch motor be (climbing wise) compared to the Rise's EP8-RS? That's something I haven't been able to find anywhere just yet.

    Well done . To put the 200W on the pedal in Boost mode you must have a steeper hill…

    • @bradsanders6954
      @bradsanders6954 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hardly ever use boost mode, but its fun when I do. Its a good option to have 500 watts on demand.

    Awesome comparison...can you please add a column for weights (and prices) of these bikes in the future charts? Looking for my first e-bike for a couple of months now, can't quite decide what I want. Definitely like the idea of a lightweight bike with just enough power to help me get over the steep-ist climbs so I'm not cheating as much but then if I'm riding with others who are on full power bikes I'll be left in the dust. So as usual no one size fits all lol

    Would really have liked to have seen the Fazua Ride 60 in this test. So far have only seen something similar on Rob Rides channel. His test not as comprehensive as yours but appears Fazua isn't quite the "60NM" motor that EP8RS is, with only marginally faster time than TQ. Comparing Mahle motor and TQ motor results would appear that their specs on paper don't really paint the real picture either...very interesting!

    Dang, nice stable of bikes! Where do you ride? I’m new to CA and staying around Lompoc, I have to drive up to slo or down to Thousand Oaks it seems for better trails. I have a 2022 Giant trance x e2, love it…had it over a year now.

    Where’s the Luna brand ?

    • @BramBiesiekierski
      @BramBiesiekierski ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you consider those 3 bikes low, medium and full power. Then a Luna would be considered a super mega power bike. Using the Bafang Ultra 160nm / 1000w (peaks at 1500w) motor, it's killer.
      I have a dengfu e22 which is effectively what the Luna is, except bought direct from the frame manufacturer in China. And it flys. I go past what you call "full power" like they are standing still.

      @@EMTBReview I have an EXE but needed to sell my regular bike to afford it. Many of the trails near where I live (Boulder) are still closed to eMTB. Would be nice to be able to pull out the battery now and then for a short, close-to-home ride. Better yet, open the trails to eMTB :)

      @@gfowkes So the Fuel ex-e is not rideable with battery removed?

    • @gfowkes
      @gfowkes ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jbhall411 I actually rode it quite a bit last weekend with the battery in, but the power off. I was riding with a group of guys on regular bikes so I wanted to give it a try. You can feel a bit of a drag when you initially start pedaling, but that quickly goes away. Not sure how practical it is, but seems possible to ride it without the battery.

    • @jbhall411
      @jbhall411 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Greg thanks for the info. I just started looking into eMTBs this week so I'm still pretty ignorant on the subject. But being able to ride without power seems rather critical for a host of reasons.

      You must have been doing monster rides. I rode yesterday my Kenevo SL for 20.1 miles/ 3800 feet of elevation gained on turbo the whole time and had 25% battery left (from the 150% with the range extender). That’s my limit for a day.
      Awesome content. Keep it coming 🤙
