Plot Synopsis:
Sung Soo-Ji (Bona) is transferred to Baekyeon Girls' High School in Seoul. She begins classes there in grade 2 class 5. On her first day at her new school, she notices her class being generally peaceful, but also a bit weird. She has to participate in a strange vote called the Pyramid Game, where the students in grade 2 class 5 participate. The game is held once a month and it is like a popularity vote, but the student who gets the lowest number of votes gets an "F" and becomes the target of school violence. Sung Soo-Ji gets zero number of votes and becomes the next target. She is bullied by her classmates and nobody seems to care about that in her class. Sung Soo-Ji tries to get out of her predicament and also tries end the Pyramid Game at her school.

The ending with Suji smiling and introducing herself to the twins all but say out loud that she would take them down in a heartbeat. No need for a whole season. Plus, the entire class (ie, the remaining students of class 2-5 are all the "good" ones who took down the game last time,) would oppose if they even caught a whiff of something starting again. They would have to change the entire premise of the show if they want a season 2. The ending was def just a way to leave an open ending to get viewers thinking (as in repeating cycle vs broken cycle), plus get Gyuri to cameo.
I think they’ll have a season two and the twins will be even worse than beak harin please stop saying this before they don’t give us one

Such a roller coaster, more possibilities. They just keep on twisting plots but they're actually predictable, we're just too attached with the tension of the story.

i just finished watching your reaction and you saying "harin went through a lot" reminded me of what she went through in the webtoon so im going to give a short backstory if anyone is interested.
*spoilers for the webtoon*
harin was adopted by jaeuns mom so they were sisters (not biologically). one day, jaeuns mom married a poor crippled man. the man did not like jaeun bc she was ugly and he was weirdly interested in harin and touchy with her (he even abused her at some point). the parents started getting in debt and not being able to provide for two kids. so they decided to get rid of one of them but harin did not want to get seperated from jaeun since they were soo close with each other. harin suggested to jaeun that they should poison him to solve all of their problems and made jaeun promise that they will stick together no matter what. then jaeun snitched on her and told him about harins plan. the parents decided to send harin back to an orphanage where she got heavily abused to the point that she was covered in bruises all the time and she got sexually assaulted by the teachers. she cried every night bc she missed jaeun so much and one day she saw jaeun outside with her mom. they looked so happy without her so harin felt betrayed and her love for jaeun turned into hatred. then she got adopted by the baektae family.
also a little note: harin was not burning peoples hands or slapping them out of nowhere in the webtoon she didnt really touch anyone she just created the pyramid game to isolate jaeun and manipulated the class, still not defending her actions. (sorry for my english)

JUST A QUICK ANALYSIS ABOUT BAEK HA RIN's CHARACTER
Ha rin was already a smart and cunning kid even back then. But the bullying she went through became the catalyst of the build-up of her character and morals. Plus the environment she lived in, they prolly teach her more cruel things especially the grandma when it comes to people. Her, bullying Woo-ri, just bc she stepped on her foot was something I'm not surprised. Some victims become the bully afterwards. I think that's what happened to her. She built this idea that no one can ever stooped on her again.
Plus. She likes cleaning her hands, figuratively. When Soo Ji asked her from past ep why the game master created that game, and Ha rin answered that it's fun, it's fun to see the eyes of the bystanders and bullies. (Her way of reminiscing her past). She's the mastermind of everything but she always acted normal inside the class to show that she's innocent. Even pretending to stop the bullying and such. It's her way of victimizing herself over and over so she can justify bullying Jaeun back.
All the bullies getting their karma is not what I expected. I thought they were going to redeem themselves somehow. Dayeon’s dad beating her still doesn’t sit right with me though even if she’s a bully.
That's what I was thinking too... Her dad is just so worse, that I can't help but pity her

My theory of why Ha-Rin created the Pyramid Game:
1. (Main Reason) The time when she was bullied as a kid:
She probably felt powerless and helpless (Ha-Rin was unable to stop/defend herself from the bullying. She wants or rather, needs to be powerful, to be in control. Pyramid Game allows her to feel powerful (She's no longer a powerless victim, even though she continue to exhibit victim mentality through guilt-tripping Ja-Eun.) Due to her powerful adoptive family background, she is now in complete control of the game, more so the situation. She can now easily manipulate these students, to get Ja-Eun or whoever it is, to attain a Grade F.
2. (Part of the reason) Ha-Rin probably perceived Ja-Eun's decision to join the bullies' clique as a form of betrayal:
Ja-Eun was her only friend. As she said in this episode, Ja-Eun was the only one who knew about the "Haneul House". She didnt share it with anyone else (The trust she had for Ja-Eun). Ha-Rin even revealed to Ja-Eun that she was an orphan. Nobody ever loved or cared for Ha-Rin. Nobody knows where or who her biological parents were. Ja-Eun was her only beacon of hope, love, and friend. Yet Ja-Eun left her, when Ha-Rin needed her the most.
3. Grandma, Dad, and Mom weren't the loving adult figures that Ha-Rin desperately needs in her life.
Unfortunately, instead of showing love and affection to little Ha-Rin when she was adopted, it seems like her adoptive parents' attitude were unloving and indifferent. Grandma may also lack empathy (As seen, when Ha-Rin slapped her teacher, instead of correcting Ha-Rin's behavior, she actually laughed about it.) She was literally raised in an environment without anyone displaying or showing what love and compassion is all about. Even when she got exposed to be the bully, her adoptive family chose to sever all ties with her, instead of sticking together as a close-knit family. Ha-Rin was yet again, abandoned and left all alone by herself.
Final Thoughts: Ha-Rin may very well be a true psychopath. She has superficial charm, display shallow affect and she is very manipulative. I feel for her, her miserable past. Of course, this is not to justify how her actions hurt the people around her. I guess unresolved trauma, lack of positive parental figures could sometimes entirely change a person's personality, or even her life.

Bcs of this show, for the first time i got to know Bona. It is my first time seeing her in a kdrama. And idk but I really like her voice! I became an instant fan.

tbh the changes they made in this show makes NO sense with the plot.. especially they really changed harin's character and her backstory. in the webtoon you at least understand her character (dont justify) and her actions. they just made her an empty villain in the show and it was so anticlimactic :/
