Great video! I just finished up a batch. I steeped half an ounce of citra hops for 20 min, then dry hopped with a half ounce of amarillo to make a one-gallon batch. Turned out great! Thanks for showing your process. I will have to experiment with steeping vs dry-hopping!

Great video! I’ve been wanting to try Hopwater for a while now thanks for the motivation!

Good luck! You might not even have to get up at 5 AM to fit in a batch. ;)

Nice bud. You have the exact questions and already tried processes my friend and I have. Look forward to more vids, maybe together we can pin down a winning recipe

The Clawhammer Supply channel has several videos on making different Hop Water versions including ones that are bottle conditioned. When I got toward the end of these kegs, I transferred them into one keg and found the mixed version to be quite nice. I miss having this on tap.

@@CascadesHomebrew I believe I have seen them all but I will check again. So far I think my hop stand/biotransformation/dry hop batch with 3 different hops was the best tasting.
If I can get close to lagunita hop water I will be happy. Cheers.

Looking forward to the hop evaluation series! I've just started the process of brewing and kegging kombucha, and you've given me a bunch of ideas for incorporating hops and hop teas!

Kombucha is something I have tried a few times and have some interest in trying out. Maybe one day I will get motivated to try.

Thanks! I’m wanting to shed some weight and cut back a bit on the beer so this will hopefully be a good way to limit the beer intake during the week!

Good luck! I will say that I have been having good luck lately making hop water by adding 2 oz of hops to 5.5 gallons of room temperature water. I let that "dry hop" for a day or two at room temperature before kegging 5 gallons into a keg. I have seen some people use up to 1 oz per gallon of water, but I have found that too much hops makes it hard to avoid astringency.

@@CascadesHomebrew thanks much! Yeah, I think Clawhammer’s video aimed for a full oz/gallon if I’m remembering correctly, but I’ve read a lot of stuff saying that’s a good way to make very vegetal hop water. I’ll definitely go with your ratios to start with and tweak as I go. I think I’ll do a split batch like this and do one with your method and one with a whirlpool just for fun - it’s only a few bucks worth of hops and a really quick “brew day” so why not? Thanks again!

    Great video!
Is that possible to create a hop water without a keg? Using a Sodasteam may be?

      Yes that is possible.
Cider producers will use a soda stream to carbonate and test their batch before carbonating and bottling.
The same thing would work for hopped water.
You can really use one for beer as it creates too much foam.

I agree that a Sodastream might work. I believe Clawhammer Supply have a video where they added enough sugar (or extract?) with yeast to bottle condition some hop water. That would add a little bit of alcohol as well.
