We could stand to have a bit more Dave’s positivity inside all of us… Also, I just realized they rhymed “Lame. OI!” with “Game Boy.” The only thing that actually connected in my mind was Oi and Boy.
+DemonTomatoDave "That displays a great imagination" The way you said that line was so swag, so groovy. I really like the sit-down talks you and Brent have concerning your projects. It's good hearing real talk from two great artists about my two favorite art forms - music and video games.
Actually I'd be happy to add a lyrics track to this, but I'm not really sure how it's done. In the meantime, you might find the lyrics easier to make out in the original video (which is here if you don't know: /watch?v=sAtWQ_xn0kI ). I guess I didn't expect anyone to see this who didn't already know the original song back to front!
Your opening lines are packed with such great internal rhymes. I really love it. (WAY back in the DAY all we had were THREE FRAME LCD GAMES. Our journeys had a LACK of all but TRAVEL SCRABBLE PACKS. YES, NES looked BEST, but to put this NEXT game in CONTEXT, it was a milestone YEAR. Handheld gaming started HERE.)
First, Dave sang his melody over the Super Mario World map, and now he's sang this live version with some different little melodies. I'd say Dave has a great ear for melodies.
Probably my favourite Brentalfloss with lyrics. This video caused one of those involuntary extreme smiles that just makes your cheeks tingle. Thanks for spreading that bit of joy!
This was amazing! Super Mario Land was actually a big part of my childhood, and this With Lyrics song really strengthened my love for it even more. Great job to both of you! :D
bl0ody amazing. even better than the actual music video and your 2nd time you did it live. having it no practiced made it even funnier and had funny moments like LOVE!! LOOoove!!!!! part
Dave I love how Brent said "What are you smoking and can I have some" and your answer is what I would have said too. I love Mario land although the graphics were dated
@@DemonTomatoDave OMG you answered! No matter what, you surely were a huge emotion to all the people there and for the viewers (and even singing along TLOZ with lyrics). Greetings from Colombia Dave
Yep! I'm glad I found it funny instead of being upset about the mistake, because I've since learned that a part of live performance of any kind is that it's never quite exactly as rehearsed, but that variation (even when it's because of mistakes) is part of the appeal. I mean, look at my "Zoo For You" video. I spend half the song just laughing at the song and the audience's response, and those laughs weren't in the lyrics I rehearsed. But it's all part of enjoying it. Incidentally if you look in my songs playlist, there's a video of a later performance of Mario Land that I think was way better, and it's different in other ways again.
+DemonTomatoDave those unrehearsed moments are always the best considered some of the biggest moments in movies are not scripted and the first performances are always the most remembered
oh i see. He meant the SML song with lyrics added. I thought he meant the lyrics would be displayed on the video (which would've been appreciated since it's hard to understand them in parts).
It's quite surprising. This was your first time singing on stage in front of an audience AND you didn't even get to rehearse, and yet, it just looked so natural for you. And to impress me further, you only made ONE mistake. You didn't even forget any of the lyrics. I can't even remember the lyrics of most of my own parodies I've written, no matter how many times I sing them over and over.
I think it's just meant to depict the concept of anime generally. We were singing at an anime/gaming convention and that's the banner for the convention.
Hello DemonTomatoDave That was one hell of a performance can I ask where was you in Leicester with Brent? I don't live that far from that place but will you kinda do this again with Brent this year at all I would like see you live if that's possible if not oh well. I kinda think where Alcon is but I'm not 100% percent sure I'm subbed to you as well :) Please reply soon as possible
It was at the student union bar at DeMontfort uni, I believe! There's a video of our performance of the same song the following year (just a day or two before we filmed Ocarina!) that's better than this one, and you can see here th-cam.com/video/kHOTr7Ru5mI/w-d-xo.html#t=1m27s
DemonTomatoDave that's so cool! I think I have heard of that uni in Leicester never been to it through. Keep up with your videos buddy they are fantastic!
Hello Dave, congratulation! You are a great singer (and Brent too, obviously)! But can i ask you a question? Do you really love Super Mario Land? I'm fourtheen, so I was born in 2000, but I really love "old" games, however I honestly prefer to the series of Crash Bandicoot instead of Super Mario. And do you like Crash Bandicoot? If you answer me you'll make me happy! =D P.S: Sorry if I made mistakes, but I'm Italian! P.P.S: W LA PIZZA!
It's either your lucky day, or your unlucky day, depending on whether you like listening to two guys talk to each other for a very long time. Just yesterday I uploaded this video: th-cam.com/video/nTjTUARhA-Y/w-d-xo.html That will answer your question in unneccessary detail and at great length. The short version though is, yeah, I do love Mario Land, even though I know it's not really all that good. As for Crash... never played it. But *surely* it can't be better than Mario. Surely!
DemonTomatoDave "It can't be better than Mario" Whoaa -- You're a wazzock! Ahahaha, of course I'm kidding! In any case you should try at least one game of the series of Crash Bandicoot, you may also like the game - obviously not as much as Mario, but you might enjoy. P.S: Thank you for having responded to me!
Brent and Dave aren't strong singers, they fell flat a bit in some points, Dave worked with it, but Brent didn't, don't think I hate it, I don't, but just wanted to point it out
This is a prime example of how bad sound can completely destroy a performance. The vocals here were great in and if themselves but the accoustics were horrid.
''IS HE HERE?'' ''You could say that.'' Best part in the video! You're great, Dave!
Genius English man
I liked that one guy who yelled "IS HE HERE?!" right after Brent said, 'I hear one special voice.'
It was me
"IS HE HERE?!"
"you could say that"
this part killed me, subscribed instantly.

Also, I just realized they rhymed “Lame. OI!” with “Game Boy.” The only thing that actually connected in my mind was Oi and Boy.
Brilliant performance. Can't believe it was your first live one. You looked like a natural with Brent.

I do love this song
GREAT IDEA DAVE
Dave sings super cute live!
I'm mostly happy about Dave's use of the terms "Plonker, Smeghead, and Twonk"
The original was "(I can't remember), pillock, and git"
+The Emerald Journals Warlock, Pillock, and Git.
+The Amazing Anon Wazzock. Not Warlock.
+The Amazing Anon I think a wazzock is just a silly warlock
DemonTomatoDave
Probably.
"You could say that" made me laugh really loud for some reason. It was just so neutral after the giant IS HE HERE!?
I quite like the variations on the melody you did for this live version. It was quite nice~
Dave you were a NATURAL! You and Brent are a great duo, you guys absolutely need to make another project soon!
I died at "LOVE!" and then died again at the new British insults.
Your opening lines are packed with such great internal rhymes. I really love it.

Kenny Malloy "The point I'm *framing* is that the state portable *gaming* was still just *larval* this was a technical *marval*
But Brent.
Flying heads.
@@1UPMushroom That displays a great im-a-gi-na-tion
Ha! This game came I *presume* from an all too magic *mushroom*
“That displays a great imagination!”
I freaking love that line delivery from Dave.
Loving the new direction you took it, more harmonizing than following the main melody like in the original. Very nice touch.
Thanks for spreading that bit of joy!
you guys just make me so happy. thanks for bringing so much gaming magic to my life.
I also liked the segway where you said word for word what you said at the beggining of the Super Mario Land video "You could say that, yes" clever.
This was amazing! Super Mario Land was actually a big part of my childhood, and this With Lyrics song really strengthened my love for it even more. Great job to both of you! :D
that was awesome
Awesome, wish i'd been there to see it live
5/5 would watch again.
This kinda makes me think of a rap battle. Like an upbeat, nerdy rap battle.
You guys are amazing . Looking forward for a new duet
Very nice guys! Wish I could've been there...
i couldnt help but sing along :)
Well done. I've always enjoyed this song.
Fantastic!! :D
Hell yes
You lovely old chap, you

Absolutely fantastic. I love these guys.
Aaaah you guys are so great
I realize this is a fairly old video now, but I just realized that you guys are like the Tenacious D of awesome nerdy video game music.
awesome video and I'm really glad it went good for you!
bl0ody amazing. even better than the actual music video and your 2nd time you did it live. having it no practiced made it even funnier and had funny moments like LOVE!! LOOoove!!!!! part
You should do more songs like this!
I'm glad to see this after watching That new nrental floss video earlier today. It's been a long time since I watched demon tomato Dave.
Dave I love how Brent said "What are you smoking and can I have some" and your answer is what I would have said too. I love Mario land although the graphics were dated
dude youre an awesome singer.you just earned yourself another subscriber
Aw, thanks! Sorry I haven't done any in a while, but I'm doing more soon! I'm getting it ready!
DemonTomatoDave
i cant wait to see it :)
Oh, and any more plans for another colab with him, cough cough everyone want's another one, do it.
What did you say at the end? it was supposed to sing "Was great", but i cant figure it out hehe
It is still "was great," but Brent's S makes it sound on the video like it isn't
@@DemonTomatoDave OMG you answered!

DemonTomatoDave I love how you sang this live version
Proud of you man :D
"Omg! Completely Random Dave Out of nowhere ;) you guys are totally great singers, I think the songs are better when both of you are singing together.

i want a kareoke version of this so bad
Dave has it on his Patreon now.
See, this is why Dave is my favorite.

whats the anime behind floss on that poster?

I'm not seeing the lyrics
You're new here, aren't you?
So was Brent a nice guy, or a bit of a wazzock?
What did those English swears mean?
+Pyromaniac basically nothing. We don't really bother with meanings in our swearwords here.

Pyromaniac
I'm not ignoring this question, I just can't really think of an answer... hmm
