I liked Doctor Sleep a lot because it didn't have cheap jump scares. Also it delves into the inheritance of trauma and violence and how we can change that.
The scene with the kidnapped boy. Horrific. I liked Doctor Strange. Entertaining. I also saw Midway. Terrible dialogue and sketchy cgi. But it is okay. Depicted historical events and told some viewpoints from the Japanese side. Thank you for your service, Veterans

I hope Joker does 1 billion at the box office. They gave us a kind of movie that's already a classic, so yeah... they deserve all our money! Personally, I saw it 3 times, and I rarely go to the cinema for the same film more than twice.
Hope? Joker is already at $984 million worldwide as of this weekend. The movie will comfortably cross a billion going into the next weekend. The question now is will it top the Dark Knight, (by the end of it's run) which I think it will.
Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle wasn't a bigger hit at the box office in 2003. It wasn't a failure, but it reached less money than the first movie worldwide. This is why Sony didn't make a third movie with Diaz, Liu and Barrymore.

Doctor Sleep weirdly never drew much attention from day 1, and I believe it's because even though the Shining may have strong name recognition, it's doesn't attract a large audience today. The IT movies had the benefit of being about an evil clown. Also, the people behind Midway have nothing to laugh about. Their budget was at a 100 mil while Doctor Sleep was 45 mil. Doctor Sleep may still perform decent in the long run, but Midway is a definitive flop creatively and financially.
Midway has a strong distribution deal in place. The film cost $100m including a marketing budget of $40m but received $25m in tax credits, leaving the overall cost at a net $75m. $60m of that cost was recouped by signing a co-distribution deal with CAA Media FInance in China. Lionsgate have the distribution deal for the US and UK. Somewhere in the mid $30m range will see them make profit.
IT2 had the benefit of following IT1’s success, and the public were curious to see how IT2 would compare to the first. Also, Finn Wolfhard and Jack Dylan Grazer have a rabid tween/teen fanbase that will throw money at virtually anything they star in, and those kid actors had a lot of shots in IT2.

Midway is very good, No stupid, soap opera "Pearl Harbor" fictional story or Mary Sues who are in every battle. Well done, historically accurate and the dog fight scenes are just edge of the seat exciting.

I think that the fact that an R rated Joker movie is going to make 1 billion dollars and ‘Batman v Superman’ did not, it speaks of what a waste of an opportunity that movie was. And that if ‘The Batman’ is really good, is going to be a juggernaut.
Dr. Sleep was really enjoyable. I thought it made for a great fantasy horror film. I love the take on others using the shining to battle kind of like Xavier and the other telepaths in the X-Men universe.
I felt like Doctor Sleep was amazing and didn't feel long at all! It never dragged and one of my biggest complaints is that I wish it took it's time more with it's pacing! It needed another 10-20 mins in length. One of my favorite theatre experiences in a LONG time!
If I see anything next, it would be Ford vs Ferrari. I don't even want to guess how many racing video game hours I have logged. Plus Batman is in it :D
Just as a heads up, as some reviewers have pointed out, there isn't a lot of racing or cars involved in the film as the marketing is showing so be ready for that. Which as a gearhead is a little disappointing, but I understand I am a minority. But it is still a very good film and it is one of the few films I am really excited for this year.

I love Doctor Sleep, i knew it's not gonna be at the same level of The Shining but it is by far better than It Chapter two, i like it took its time to develop the characters, like that the bad guys motivations are clear, and that doesn't depend to much from the shining apart of the opening secuence and the third act.
I really enjoyed it too. I also liked that it didn't try to undo or rewrite The Shining the way Terminator Dark Fate and a lot of other modern sequels seem to do with their franchises.

Saw Midway in a Dolby AMC hall and while I agree that it had problems but the speakers in the seats really let you feel the action. Added an extra degree to the effects.
