Looks like a nice Christmas guys! Sorry to see your unfortunate incident with the tyre, these things happen and no one was hurt that’s the main thing. Keep on travelling guys 👍
Thanks, Rodney. Merry Christmas and happy new year, mate. yep, these things do happen, and we're very grateful that no one got hurt. thankfully, we're able to show what can go wrong and that you never stop learning 🙏
Laura, you used the same recipe as I did for the ham glaze I also googled, the only difference was I measured mine😂. It looked like it turned out great. Merry Belated Christmas and New Year, I hope 2025 got off to a good start for you guys. We love tocumwal, we have friends that live there. Hope it was a good trip after getting the van sorted.
Hi what a rough time you both have had. It seems strange a brand new tyre would have blow out on sealed road ,did your tyre monitor work? The disc brakes have been very hot to melt the high temp grease ,it would worth checking the wheel bearings they would have cooked. That Lovells coupling would go in the bin if it were mine! Chin up Safe travels.
Cheers.these things happen. after speaking with the tyre guys, they said we would've had a flat tyre and not knowing being a dual axle. our last van had our sensors on it. we were waiting for safety Dave to reopen. 💯 the Lovells hitch is going 👍
Rrr The highs and lows of Xmas, fortunately no human incidents, just stuff that can be repaired . Laura’s a little dynamo when it comes to organising events, including all that beautiful cooking you both prepared. Happy New Year, hopefully you got sorted and enjoyed your down time in the Van and new annexe.
Enjoyed this episode, sorry for the bad luck you experienced but it made for a very interesting and informative vlog. Love your choice of music each time too btw, well done guys! 👊🏻☺️
Troy, see that small round sleeve welded to the trailing arm, that is to put you bottle Jack into so it will not slip off. Safe travels Add to my comment The slot on your orange Jack fits on the rear of the wheel arch where the mud flap is mounted, it is an extension of about 150 mil u channel with a piece welded on the end. Hope this helps
Thank you. yep 💯. the bottle jack was too high to fit in that sleeve. the caravan jack would only lift the caravan, not the suspension. Fortunately, with the dual axle, it was pretty safer to place the bottle jack directly under the suspension arm. otherwise, you're right. l would've preferred to place it under the sleeve
Chin up guys, as you said Troy ‘you live and learn’, so true. Loved your family Christmas gathering, all that beautiful food had me salivating 🤤😋. Wishing you both a Happy New Year 🎉 and look forward to more videos in 2025 ❤
Keep on smilin - it could be a lot worse. You've had your 3 things, all good now. Just a FYI, hubby said need to check where ball jack goes under van, we saw the spot just further toward the back to where you had the jack. Look for something like an egg ring, the jack will sit in it and shouldn't slip out. Have a great year🎉
That's very true 👍. Yep, I totally agree, although the bottle jack wouldn't fit under the round sleeve. We had to improvise. luckily, it wasn't too dangerous having a dual axle 👌
I feel for you guys, it's crazy trying to get back on at the motor ways. I was stuck for 10mins waiting for at gape on the Gold Coast. Don't know why people don't move over hey. Great episode as all ways suck the tyre blew when it was so young.
That hitch would be a handy boat anchor. Could you imagine how pissed off people would get with you in a caravan park trying to unhitch with your vehicle blocking the road. Skip the beers and straight to the scotch.
Spend some money 30:08 and piss those rubbish General tyres off and get decent tyres fitted. Sorry for your mishap though. Edit, get rid of that tow hitch and go back to the simple DO35.
Hi Troy I think you did explain why you did no go for a DO45 hitch ? We were stuck on the side of a busy highway with a dropped water tank very scary !
Crikey mate that road is busy, how do you handle living there? At least the Toyota jack works well!!! Was it a Chinese tyre???? I have a 2 year old Jayco touring (non- 4WD) with the old fashioned spring suspension and and old fashioned tow ball hitch. Works like a dream. I extended the tow hitch with a Hayman Reece hook up as I drive single cab 79 series. I avoid anything Chinese like the plague and to be honest, can's see myself driving my $100,000 van offroad so don't need a 4WD van. Good luck bro Hughesie
Cheers, mate, it does happen. yeah, we didn't get a choice of tyres, unfortunately. although it looks as though we had a flat and didn't realise being a dual axle.. You live an lean, l suppose. 🍻
Im after an airfrier but i dont want one that has plastic coated heat proof stuff inside touching my food , yours looks the go a kmart one great , so there must be plenty around like that in other shops a full stainless steel jobby nice 👍 and yes it will live in the caravan
When you get back you guys will handle life a lot easier, don’t try to tell people how to travel every one is so different and most people don’t make silly mistakes,
@ladysusanjane2682 Singapore is beautiful. We're not going until the end of next year. l was just stirring up Jilly, our community troll 🤔. she does give us plenty of laughs with her glass half empty approach 🤣
Bugger ...all started great with great Christmas celebrations but seems the naughty Christmas Elf stepped in to muck you around. Hope 2025 started better than 2024 ended
Wow you ended up using the bottle jack instead of that fancy orange jack. Why do you have to have the music so loud when your speaking sometimes. Your on the side of the road Laura is sayin something and the music drowns her out
Hey Mick, yep, the orange jack came with the caravan. It might be ok to lift the van out of the sand. It's no good for changing tyres. Usually, if the sound is over, our voice is because what we're saying isn't that interesting 😆 . How's Rapid Bay?
Looks like you drove on the tyre flat then stredded and peeled the tyre off while driving on the rim. Being a tyre fitter the tyres don't just blow off the rim so get a tyre monitor system. Save you trying to tell bullshit how it happened 😂
That's exactly what happened, Einstein. we're not tyre fitters. We just said what we thought that was what happened. Be thankful that we don't hide this stuff. We also have tyre monitors, which, unfortunately, the sensors went with our last happy new year 🎉
You don't need to be Einstein or a tyre fitter to work it out. It's "basic maintenance". You will probably feel a slight serge in the vehicle at first which will be the tyre blown, then check your mirror's with a slight flick of the wheel left and right. If it's a tyre you will see it before it peels off and potentially causing a accident as the tyre will be trying to roll off the rim and might save you having to purchase a new rim. You never know, it might help you next time.
@GEEJAE47 yeah totally agree. although your original message didn't need to come with a smart arse response. a simple looks like you have driven on a flat tyre would've been helpful 👌 👍
Handle it , when you put your life on socials you need to take all criticisms peanut.I do enjoy watching your channel and putting abit of shit on you. It's all part of it.
Oh guys what a shocker - looks like it’s onwards and upwards from here! ❤

We seen you guys today on Monash around Warigal. We where so excited especially after we watched the episode last night.
Hava a safe trip
Enjoy 😉
Ahh, awesome 😍. thanks for following along 🙏

Hey Dylan, thanks, mate. unfortunately, common courtesy is not so common anymore 😕
I hope you both had a great Christmas & New Year
Blooper Troy you said leg of lamb going in the BBQ meaning ham , looked great in the end 😂
We picked that up too
Haha. when editing, we noticed the same mistake. thanks for watching and following along 🍻
Not a good start but fortunately everyone was ok. The rim and tyre can be replaced. Hope the rest of your Christmas and New Year has gone well x
Thanks, Klara, yes 💯. these things happen. Fortunately, everyone is safe 🙏
Sorry for the issues with the van. Let’s hope it’s sorted out asap so you can get back on the road for adventures.
Thank you 😊. that's ok. These things happen. Happy New Year! Thanks for watching and commenting 🎉
iCheck TPMS also does temperature helping with stuck brakes.
Yep. we have safely dave atm. but have suggested to friends and family to go with icheck.
wow not a good day, I'll stand by on your fix for that hitch situation.
Cheers 🍻. hopefully, we will get a solution 👍
That hitch would be a handy boat anchor. Could you imagine how pissed off people would get with you in a caravan park trying to unhitch with your vehicle blocking the road. Skip the beers and straight to the scotch.
Haha, absolutely great idea. Yep, it's a ridiculous hitch 🙄
“ Another great thing my misses knows how to change a tyre “
Spend some money 30:08 and piss those rubbish General tyres off and get decent tyres fitted. Sorry for your mishap though.
Edit, get rid of that tow hitch and go back to the simple DO35.
Did Troy say King Billy was “on the dollar twenty”? What does that mean? Ta
So let us know what Lovells are going to do mate, it’s makes no sense you can’t use a DO45 hitch like I can & do..
Keep the post coming..😊
Because anything else doesn't form part of the Lovells certification
Thanks. we certainly will let you know how it all pans out. 👍
Didnt santa bring you tyre sensor gauges 😮
They went with our last van, unfortunately
Zero benefit trailer handbrake on when it hooked to the car and one of the braked wheels in the air
💯
Hi Troy I think you did explain why you did no go for a DO45 hitch ? We were stuck on the side of a busy highway with a dropped water tank very scary !
Hi Jackson, Yeah, Lovells won't allow you to use a DO45 on their 4ton towing upgrade
Crikey mate that road is busy, how do you handle living there? At least the Toyota jack works well!!! Was it a Chinese tyre????

you guys should go to bali to destress so funny
You'd be happy to know we're off to Singapore next week. Journey Unknown 😍

@Jilly13bean12 ok Jilly, great advice
You never did like that coupling. From memory you were basically black mailed into having to use it.
All the Gear And No Idea.
That's original, Gary. if we had all the gear, we would've had a tyre monitoring system. we're looking forward to your next episode 🤔 🤣 😂
Looks like it was just one of those days!
Sure was. thankfully, we were able to film it to showcase what can happen 👍
Should have a Hitch ezy. Great Hitch. Look them up. CHEERS 🥂 for 2025.
Thank you 😊 anything must be better than this hitch
Tyre pressure monitoring system may have helped.
💯. unfortunately, our sensors went with our last van. we were waiting on Safety Dave to reopen
Steel rims 16in and tpms,
Cheers. yeah, we have a tpms. unfortunately, the sensors went with our last van. we were waiting on Safely Dave to reopen
@@JourneyUnknown
Davies Craig have a better TPMS

Lovells gear is so good 😂😂😂😂
🤔 Their hitch certainly isn't
@ all there gear is junk so get rid of a DO45 hitch and put that junk okay 😂😂😂😂😂
