- It's time for some DogPacking with John and Mira! I met these two back in January 2020 while riding the Baja Divide. We became fast friends and rode Baja and the Great Divide together. Covid kept us apart for over a year, but I finally tracked them down in Southern Utah to ride the Western Wildlands route.

I haven't road with a dog but I'm thinking about it!! I met a Australian traveling with a half datsun and half Chihuahua that rode in the front left saddle bag! Just his head sticking out!! And another guy with a 80lb. Shepherd who road in a trailer and would jump out when going uphill and jump back in at the top!!! That was so cool!!! That was at samuel p. Tailor st. Park where I also saw a cross dressing cyclist wearing a dress!!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣 but yeah, thinking of getting a dog!!! Piece out and get out there!!!

Got the bike and the pup trained up. She loves to camp. Hoping for a little gear for Christmas and I plan on taking her everywhere I can once the weather breaks in the spring.

Amazing how sometimes people cross their ways in the middle of nowhere and turn the occasion into a lifetime friendship!
There were two things I enjoyed about this episode. First, the epic drone shots of the landscape, high saturation in the winter light. Second, the bromance the romantic comedy vib is something the bikepacking world needs more of! Looking forward to the rest of the series.

MIRAAAAAA‼️🐕 OMG she was so happy to see Duzer again she started to doggie-cry. John put the Priority together? Wow I didn't know he had mechanic skills👍. John...bro...I don't know if that Gates system is gonna work out long term. I never had one but I did have an 8 speed Alpine IGH. I STRIPPED THE GEARS! And yes, I never shifted under load. IGH systems are cool and have tons of advantages, but they tend to become problematic for high mileage loaded weight cyclist.
Duzer I tell ya this was the pick-me-up I needed. The headlines are nothing but death and government tyranny. But Mira makes it all go away...LOVE THAT PUPPY 🐶 🥰.

Hi Ryan and John. Yes I have been dog packing for? Well let's say I'm on my second dog (Daisy). And now 64 with a heart condition. My current bike is a Ktm scarp mountain bike. When she gets tired I put her in a little kiddie trailer. My last dog Millie never stopped especially if I kept the pace slow. But she did have a tendency to run if spooked. But otherwise she was great at running to heal, next to my bike. By the way guys I, I really enjoy seeing both of your travels. Keep up the good work. 😊

i hike-a-bike quite a lot, i enjoy the pace of a short hike, plus, it's a whole other workout, i stop and "smell the roses" more when i'm on foot

Wow some of those photos when he was camping and there was snow on his tent. There's been time that I have been in Florida in the winter time and have wash socks; putting them on the outside of my tent to dry and the next morning they were frozen.
