And Ruth said."Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee. For wither thou goest I will go and, where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me". Ruth 1: 16-17

My son and his beautiful girl chose this piece to be sung at their wedding by eight very close and very accomplished musician friends. So, so perfect - not a dry eye in the house. This is such a different performance but I come back to it time and time again and t never fails to move me.

If I could do only one thing to soften and gladden the world it would be to encourage every single young person to sing, or at least listen to, choral music like this--and so many other good and great pieces. How can we harbor anything but beautiful thoughts when hearing such exquisite sound? Producing such sound, not to mention the power of the lyrics, is a gift beyond all words.

Agree completely, and see it every year in students who choose to sing in the choir. Even after they've left the school, they come back year after year to choral events, and say how much they miss singing and how much it shaped their personalities and influenced later choices.

Absolutely beautiful! I ran across this song while listening to the John Rutter Pandora station a while ago and fell in love with it. I then found it on TH-cam, and today found this video here. I've been involved in choral music much of my life, and sacred choral music can move hearts like nothing else can in my opinion. This particular song moves me to tears every time I hear it. And seeing an entire choir holding hands and singing it made it extra special. To all of you who performed this thank you, and keep it up! Please remember what you felt singing this. You can't buy this kind of heavenly power, and it's something that will bless you and others all your life. God bless you!

Wow your comment really moved me! I wish you all the love in this world and that you know the love of Jesus because nobody in this world will ever love you so much as he will! Sometimes in life you will meet others whom God has put in your path to love you unconditionally! It will be God's little love note even if its just on a smaller scale to remind you about his infinite love towards you and one day you will be together forever!

It is this type of music that I believe has the power to change people's hearts. Power to unite people regardless of race, religion, political beliefs. Power to change the world. This type of music is so beautiful, So pure, and everytime I hear music like this I think "How could anything so beautiful and pure bring anger and harm".

Once again, very impressed with the sopranos in particular. Their wonderful way as a unit with each other and the rest of the choir. Good job. One more thing. It could be the mics limitations or my device, but Gary Schwartshoff, I think I'd tell the basses to push them some more. They've got it. Make the sopranos earn it, if you know what I mean.

Yes, I like that idea too, but this SWAYING while choirs are performing is VERY DETRACTING. I don't when this phenomenon got started with college and university choirs across America, but as a long-time choral director I have to say it looks out of context with the music and overall performance. It just DOESN'T work, and it needs to stop.
