How can we harbor anything but beautiful thoughts when hearing such exquisite sound? Producing such sound, not to mention the power of the lyrics, is a gift beyond all words.

I've been involved in choral music much of my life, and sacred choral music can move hearts like nothing else can in my opinion. This particular song moves me to tears every time I hear it. And seeing an entire choir holding hands and singing it made it extra special. To all of you who performed this thank you, and keep it up! Please remember what you felt singing this. Once again, very impressed with the sopranos in particular. Their wonderful way as a unit with each other and the rest of the choir. Good job. One more thing. It could be the mics limitations or my device, but Gary Schwartshoff, I think I'd tell the basses to push them some more. They've got it. Make the sopranos earn it, if you know what I mean.

I don't when this phenomenon got started with college and university choirs across America, but as a long-time choral director I have to say it looks out of context with the music and overall performance. It just DOESN'T work, and it needs to stop.
