After 30 years just bought my first clod kit yesterday, watching all your vids before assembly!

Great idea putting pads on your body. The less the body moves around on the post the better. Great video and awesome truck.

WOW! I haven't had a Clod in almost 30 years - but even by memory I can tell that the steering is dramatically improved!! I remember those days..... rear wheel steering ONLY. This actually makes me want to get another one!

    Great ideas.
I'm going to have to try this on the Clod Buster I'm currently building.
    Thanks 👍

So happy as I have swapped my servo horn for the one you suggested and it worked a treat! Such a joy to drive now as the original steering was lame. Such sharp cornering now! Thanks 👍🏻

Excellent my friend! Glad to hear it! The Clodbuster may be an old RC but it is a real riot to drive around!

Clod has to be the #1 selling, longest production running RC ever made. For good reason too !

Solid tip on the servo horn. Stock setup was surprisingly bad, and I just didn't want to commit the time and effort to the dual servo mod. This was a great middle ground. Nice one.

Hey man, thanks for sharing. Because of this video, I have decided to wait for the on axle servo mount brace before I finish connecting everything to the tub chassis.

Great tip on the body pads! Self-adhesive foam sheets are available from Hobby Lobby. You can get a brick of multi-colored half.sheets (~ 5”x8”) for a couple bucks and have literally a lifetime supply.

I found mine at my parents house too. All electrics were taken out, no idea who did it. Trying to see what parts I need to get it working. Want to buy a new remote and servos for it

That’s cool, I use the white body washers with shoe goo, just put lil shoe goo on the washer n stick to under side of body n let dry, it takes all rattle out n nice tight fit👍👍👊👊📹📹

Man, how did you mount the steering rods to the Star horn? I don’t see how it can be done with the stock “ball connectors” (part #BH3 in the manual). Looks like the holes on the Star horn are way too small for the supplied ball connectors? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I did this a while back and the rear dramatically improved but now the front steering sucks so I don't know if I did something wrong or if it's a trade off of getting the rear better

High! I just building one. I think about to run it in reverse,if I can not sort out the steering
It's only the chrome bumper what needs to change sides, flip the tires and change the motorcables.

hi there, ive just finished my super clod and the wheels dont turn when its stationary. Is that normal. do i need to get a grunty servo..? Would that make much difference? Thankyou!

    • @crazyskullcrusha
      @crazyskullcrusha  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Just saw this comment so sorry for the late response. It is normal if the wheels don't turn when the truck is stationary. A higher torque servo will make the truck steer better but the actual issue with the wheels not moving is the steering servo savers.

i bought a used 4x4x4 and the steering was set up horrible! turns left on a dime but hardly turns right lol. Will have to take it apart and do these mods on the rebuild!

TheStuffz same story with me. I have it trim all the way to drive. Got the whole rig mint $50. I want to fix that and lock the diff. Mine came with 2 360 mega kyosho motors. With xl5 esc and lipo it's a fun truck.
