I binged this show at the beginning of 2021, and this was essentially when I was able to finally climb out of the pit of despair created by the pandemic. I was starting my MBA, and I finally got another job after I lost one during COVID.

Took my sister years to convince me to watch this. Great series.

Frustrating how Dobby got progressively more unlikeable as the seasons went on.
The influence of Mark’s yuckiness
It's British comedy. There aren't supposed to be any nice people in British comedy. They don't last, or their niceness doesn't, but you can't have a lot of niceness in British comedy, because horrible people are funnier.
American comedy is always full of likeable people, or at least people that have something likeable. Not in the UK. Monsters all round.
Literally anybody who has spent extended periods of time with Jez or Mark wind up worse off.

@Christian L The thing with British comedy, as opposed to American comedy, it doesn't do happy endings. The moment something slightly more complicated than what drugs Superhans is on comes up, like a relationship, things will have to go sour at some point.
In American comedy, people are fundamentally good. In British comedy they can be anything, but not that.
It's Dobby's job to ultimately disappoint. Because Mark, under no circumstances, can ever be happy. That would take all the fun out of it.
So it can't last. Like Soberhans couldn't last.

I can't get away from the idea that Mark could have avoided a lot of embarrassment by just buying a cauliflower and a packet of white sause, boil it to bits, and just parked it in front of his dad.
Imagine how long it would have taken Mark's dad to eat an entire cauliflower on his own.
Go to a restaurant and 'pretend like you're Infinity wealthy', it's either that or eat alone.

It's so ridiculously unlikely. I've been fixing computers for over 20 years. And how would she know? It would look like a failed drive to her. Firmware corruption will usually only happen when updated - you never do that to hard drives!

I would have been quite happy if she had stormed out and had never come back. In an alternate and just universe, this would have happened, and we would never remember Dobby at all.

The Inbetweeners and Friday Night Dinner both have way more hysterical "gross-out" moments and one-dimensional characters for their audiences to relate to.
More PS characters are attracted to Dobby than to any of its other female characters, as though she's the most attractive!
