- Matt and Andy explore this beautiful abandoned former Irish centre why not come and join us.
Built between 1815-1816 and designed by Edmund Aiken, it was originally used by high society for assemblies dance balls and parties,
During WW2 it was used as a base for the RodneyYouth centre.
In 1941 it suffered bomb damage to all of the original ceilings except the ballroom.
The building has been stood empty since the 1990’s after the Irish centre was relocated and has become derelict.

I live not far from this place and often wondered what it's like inside. It's such a shame that it's been left to rot. It is a brilliant video and your exploring is at it's best and the humour.

@@FINDERSBEEPERSI do agree. That attic of that Italian theatre was was nerve wrecking. Well not the attic perce but you tiptoeing through that narrow plank of wood, then your torch went out... Then a moment later we all could see how high up you had been. I tell you the same as to my daughters:" You may climb up, but be sure you wont fall down!" 😊

This was a brill explore. You two always make me laugh. There were so many grand and brill ornate ceilings, walls, staircases, rooms, pictures of famous people, all of it was just fabulous!!!! Wow, the very end was a very narrow escape. 😅😅😅 As always, you two truly make the explore the best!!!! ❤❤❤

one of the archways looked a bit like a fireplace...if not, it may have been a trap for the ash from a main fireplace above to save them from having to clear it out into a bin everyone they used it

Beautiful exploration of Wellingtons. I can't get around nowadays. So I'll explore vicariously! It does mean "kiss my ass" LOL. I got a good laugh out if that. You guys are not only a good laugh but informative for those of us trapped in The States. Keep up the great work! Caroline and Arabella were Kennedy's daughters. One of them had a lobotomy I think but the name andwhich one slips my mind.

Hi Matt & Andy....that portrait of John F. Kennedy has a little girl who is his daughter Caroline.
As to Andy’s comment about Jackie...she was Caroline’s mum and she married Onassis and became the hated step mon to Onassis’ daughter Christina.
The Kennedy that died in the plane crash was John F,s son and Caroline’s brother John F. Kennedy Jr.
All the original Kennedy brothers have passed and they all were “Alleged” to have had affairs with Marilyn Monroe and “Alleged” to have been behind her death....murder!

JFK had a daughter Caroline and a son John....they still have relatives in Ireland... His son died in a plane crash ....His oldest brother was a pilot and died in WW1.... he died ... his brother Bobby was also assisted ... I think there were a couple sisters that died as well... I hope this helps

It actually was a archeological dig per say.. they were told someone had been buried under the concrete. They had brought in cadaver dogs in and they proceeded..but I'd have to go back and watch the video on that dig again. I cant say for sure if they'd found bones because I cant remember. SamandJessExplore covered the details.

I used to walk past that place in the early 70s it was full of music and singing on St paddy's day and the next thing I recall is it was closed down if I remember correctly it was for safety reasons and supposed to be temporary closure for maintenance and yes the mayor of the city Joe Anderson allowed a Good few really old buildings to be knocked down and private apartments to be built his partner in crime was Dereck Hatton a corrupt wanna be a member of parliament two big crooks that tried to sell our city illegally... oh by the way lads love your videos

Just been Googling....this Grade 2 listed building was placed on the National Heritage High Risk Register 21 years ago!!! And yet....nothing has been done! £120k awarded 3 years ago! Something dodgy going on there. What a shame that it's been left to rot like this. What's the point if it being listed, being recognised as at risk then left to decay like this? It's criminal.
It’s in the north so they don’t give a toss. Would be a different story if it was down south. Such a shame.

Aloha Beepers! The Kennedy family has always been said to have had some kind of family "curse"(as in somewhere a couple generations back, they pissed someone off & got a curse placed upon their ENTIRE family). Luckily or Unluckily I believe that it ended with John F. Kennedy Jr his Wife Carolyn Bessette, & her Sister Lauren crashing the plane that John was flying into the ocean near Martha's Vineyard Massachusetts. So far, only one of John F. Kennedy's four children is alive today; Caroline, & she has 3 very live, lively children, so, hopefully the curse ended in 1999.🤔
