They break down pretty often in the hotel I work in. But it seems they work great in boiler systems and not individual heat pumps in each room. We replace these actuators at 3 times a week.
The ones that you replace… are they installed on the outgoing or returning side. It’s recommended to install them on returning sides of the boiler system (longevity… but I can’t find any info or stats about that). Thanks,
How do you run the wiring for the zone valves? Do you have one wire going from thermostat to the valve. And another wire going from the valve to the boiler?
Question. Im talking about the fan coil unit (2 pipe & 4 pipe system). Why is the valve closed when the heating system is ON. Then I turned ON the valve manually, and it started to supply hot water to coil. Is it Actuator issue or something else ?
It can be two things. Either the wiring to the valve is faulty or the valve has failed. The correct way to test this would be check for voltage at the valve while the boiler is firing. If you have voltage then replace the valve.
I’m getting ready to do a three zone system with the those sentry zone valves.. I noticed they came with resistors in the taco controller box.. do I need to use these resistors? Or is that for like a specific application? It said something about power Robin thermostats. I appreciate your help thanks, Joe. And if I do, could you explain where you would put them the resistors that is thank you
Ypu can replace the solenoid only without having to mess with any piping. There is a clip on the back to remove it and there is a qire connector to remove the wiring.
Hey Jim, what happens when you ship off an excellent system like this to some shulp-DIYer in, let's say, the mountains of Colorado and he desperately emails you for advice? 😎

@VadimDrevenchuk they can be installed on either side with minimal concern.

@JimSperanza Thanks
We install these at my job all the time
Yeah ?
Question why does the value stay “open” after I turn off my thermostat (heat)
@@Tiffany_FeeFeeTV it is either not wired correctly or it is stuck.

Mines clicks really loud when I turn on my furnace and I have to push down that green button for it too work don’t know what too replace on it

Then I kick in to high gear and get er done!
