This is belting! I’ve tried every batch and each has a distinct difference, phenomenal value too. These do take a while to open up, they’re not designed for swiggers at all.

Some hightlights from the auto-subtext generator:
    - Kill Karen
    - heavily pitted single malt whisky
    - … The Mike Spotty - somewhere in the middle of the ABC …
    - The peak is really coming out to meet me
    - Glen Gale Distillery
    - Kill Kevin
    - Heavily repeated whiskys
    - … and I have tasted some really old Lego volumes, 30 year old and 25 year old Legoland
    - Peter Twisky comes from Isla
    - It’s actually nice to get a change from Isla Pete, because they often get that Salty Maritime Pettiness
    - Glendale is the sister distillery of Springbank
    - Greenman, freshman pineapple mint
    - … the intensity of this young whisky which I wouldn’t put to more than 6 to 7 years old uhm but absolutely worth it if you like pizza, if you don’t like Pete walk away, walk totally away and never look back … I like Pete.
    - The Finnish Gingery Pete
    - Keep your eyes open, Mock Maps
    - I like elemental pitiness I don’t like pettiness that’s been messed about with over time.
    - It’s a Mock Mark.
    - Try the Clicker - means goodbye.
You couldn’t make this shit up. Well I guess you could but it’s almost sad to think the algorithm does not possess the phenomenal experience to savour itself at work.

@@torbjornkarlsen xD yeah me too. That’s why I have a good bottle of Kill Kevin on the way in the mail, straight out of the Legoland distillery. None of the maritime pettiness that we’ve all grown so weary of from that salty old bugger Islay Pete. Don’t want to put him on the spot but he HAS made himself a bit of a mock mark of late. He should try the clicker …

I really love these releases, and frankly most things from Kilkerran. They really hit home with me. I have an opened and an unopened bottle of each of the Heavily Peated batches in my collection. I like them all and their differences, but batch 4 might be the top one for me.

Bought this btl 4 months ago & just opened it this evening, this is the 1st HP batch I've been able to get my hands on & I'm not dissapointed.
Peat slap in the face indeed, minerally & ginger powder. Nippy neat granted but it is CS, custard creams with water added. Peat finish go's on & on & Ariston.
If young is the way to go why won't the industry just put the age statement on these NAS peated single malts?
Rather than it being brand damaging TBA I think we'd all appreciate the transparancy & integrity if they did.

Kilkerran, Hazelburn and Longrow are my go-to whiskies now that Springbank has become completely unaffordable. I have never had a disappointing experience in any of these because the quality is so consistently fantastic. Young ones like this 8yr can be great and also put away a few 21s as well. Stockpiling a large stash before the collectors catch on and push these out of my range too!

I am not so much into peat because I always had Islay in my mind. I can tolerate it once in a while but wouldn't buy a bottle. This one (had previous batches and like Kilkerran in general) is different and I love it. Glad that I gave it a chance. So I would say it's wort a try. A sample. Or find a friend who has a bottle...

Still looking to find this. And I 100% agree on peated whiskys being better at the younger end of things. 5 yrs for Wee Beastie up to 10-12 for the flagship heavy hitters is the sweet spot. Beyond that, it just doesn’t slap as hard and that KAPOW is what I want from a peaty whisky.

Today I was looking for a nice aingle malt to buy myself a birthday present and torn between Laphroaig 10 yr old sherry cask or Deanston 12 and out of the blue, got an email from one of these online bottle shops that batch num 9 is in stock and interestingly I had some credit under my account in that shop so I just placed the order. I couldn't choose one over the other, but if I had the choice of picking a spare - probably 7. It has more in common with 5 than 6. I like the clarity and laser sharp definition of flavours - a more high toned sweetness than the 6, and a little more virgin oak. Saying that, the 6 has a wonderful bloom of peat on the finish which I love. The 7 finishes a little more spirit dominant.

Ralfy, lets be honest buddy...nobody drinks a cask strenght whisky diluted to 30-35 abv. Also the 85 score is a little on the low side. Just my 2 cents...

Heavily peated sounds good to me, no need for more info.

I find the 8 year Lagavulin more enjoyable than the 16. The 16 is popular here because its subdued.
