Best. Tutorial. Ever. for this radio! Goodbye dual rates, hello infinite inflight adjustment! Thank you so much, your videos on this TX have me convinced I've just bought the best "bang for the buck" radio on the planet. Again, THANK YOU!
This will help so much with dialing in down elevator with flaps. I knew this was possible but could never figure it out. I need to upgrade to EdgeTX ASAP.
I've been struggling with finding the right elevator compensation for crow on my Phase 5e. Just followed this tutorial but for elevator compensation. Next time I go to the field, I should have it dialled in within one flight. Many thanks.
When ever you applied the expo setting the camera was just out of view of the curve portion it might be hard for some to get it working if they don’t know this.
@@RCVideoReviews I have T5 for weight and T6 for expo. Super easy to setup. You just need to remember to log your values for each model you fly. I also use 3 different FM buttons. Takeoff, mid range and Acro. Couldn't have done it without your videos. Thanks John 👍🏻
Thanks for the video! This works great. Is it possible to have which channel knobs S1 and S2 are affecting be controlled by a 3 position switch so I can tune aileron, elevator, and rudder independently?
Great stuff, thanks! Question: why mix the rate & expo in at Inputs rather than Mixes (Weight=RAT, Curve=Expo+EXP) ? (PS I haven't made it through all of your vids, so let me know if you already explain that concept somewhere!)
@@RCVideoReviews LOL - thanks - makes a lot of sense for more complicated models. I'm on my first quad on my RM TX16s :) So this will be very handy for future models!
when i look at the mixer travel, although i have high rate at 100% for aileron, rudder and elevator, when i move sticks, they are not at 100%, some are at 97 left or 95 right i calibrated multiple times, similarly on low and medium rates
At 11.30 mins you suggest changing the weight to RAT but my Tx16s running on version 2.7 only allows me to increase the numbers and does not allow me to select anything.
Dimension? Global Variables in this case is a misnomer. They are only visible to the current model. Don't confuse Global Variables with Global Functions which are visible to all models.
Every video I post has an invite to my discord in the description. On my discord, there is a channel called #emily-requests All of the custom voice prompts I make for Edge are posted in that channel.
To use the knob on different mix lines you'd have to use some logic to tell the knob to update a different Global Variable. It could be done, but would be a little tricky I think.
I was looking for a way to change a GV via a turning knob and your video described it perfectly. Thanks a lot!
Glad it helped!

You definitely did…. Glad to help.
I was looking for a way to adjust the mix value throttle in elevator during flying, that solved my problem. Thanks a lot John. 😊
You are welcome!
Another great video tutorial! I'm loving my TX16S!
Appreciate the comment. The TX16s is an excellent radio.

Yeah, there are all kinds of creative things you can do with this.
Great video on a great tip. Thanks John.
Thanks Dave :) Cool stuff right?
Yet another great video with lots of great ideas. Thanks John.
Glad you like them!
Nice tip on disabling the t5 and t6 trim value. I just tried it on open tx and it works also. Much appreciated!!
No problem 👍

Great job i will try it on my radio. Thanks John.
Have fun!
Oh my god, exactly what I needed, thank you!
You're very welcome!

Welcome
I have mine setup on t5 and t6 through F M. Pretty cool
Yeah, that would be cool too--kinda like trim for weight.

You're welcome. Thanks for hitting the tip jar.
very nice.
Thank you! Cheers!
Hey John I like this concept but i am looking to set up my weight on one switch and expo on another! Is this possible ? I have tried every way I know
Your video "Expo on a slider for OpenTX" is not anymore on TH-cam. Is it privat?
Thanks for the video! This works great. Is it possible to have which channel knobs S1 and S2 are affecting be controlled by a 3 position switch so I can tune aileron, elevator, and rudder independently?
This is an interesting question--unfortunately, I'm not sure there's a way to do it. I'll think on this though because it's intriguing.
Another great video how to! My problem is I just can't keep up. 😆
They're here for reference anytime you need them.

Highlight the weight value and long press the jog dial.
@@RCVideoReviews Ok, thanks will do.
Cant seem to find the rate value sound file in the emily request channel on your discord.
That's because I put them in the #electric-power channel instead--by mistake. They're in the Emily channel now.
Great idea/programing! Question: could it be done not with global variables but with a dimension specific to the model?
Dimension? Global Variables in this case is a misnomer. They are only visible to the current model. Don't confuse Global Variables with Global Functions which are visible to all models.
@@RCVideoReviews Ooops! You are right, my bad!!!
No worries. It's a little inconsistent to use global variable and global function with both having a different scope.
Nice video. From Malaysia.
Just need help how to read out THROTTLE value?
Special Function Play Value Input:THR...just like the video shows with the RATE and EXPO inputs.
what does T5 and T6 trims control and T3 and T4

Can I apply different rates/weights to each channel or must they be global value?
